ACR has its shortcomings, but they're nothing compared to the pleasure this title delivers. Large, more polished and varied, quite pretty and offering an adventure and a story more enticing than ever, the solo play doesn't disappoint, even though it's still based on the same tricks and elements established a few episodes ago. It may be time to alter the formula. Ben even so, the multiplayer has been refined, all the while becoming more accessible. Overall, it's an action-adventure must-have.- Posted Nov 14, 2011

Back to the roots for the little pink guy with Kirby's Adventure Wii. The creature eats again, and can now have three friends with it to join the party. The game is super easy, and doesn't invent anything new, but it remains the original Kirby we know and love, and it works.- Posted Nov 30, 2011

With the hugely popular Angry Birds, and the unique Sword and Sworcery, Jetpack Joyride forms up the tryptic of the smartphone/tablet typical must-have games. It's pure action, through a single move : touching the screen to control the Jetpack, and survive the randomly generated traps as long as possible. It's highly addictive, filled with nice bonuses to unlock and blessed with a very nice artistic touch, typically referencing the video game world... just grab it!- Posted Jan 12, 2012

For its second coming on the 3DS, Resident Evil treats itself to a splendid come back on the frontlines. Visually stunning, diabolically paced, and at last correctly smoothed out in terms of gameplay, the adventure is a delight, even though it completely lacks... revelations.- Posted Jan 30, 2012

Particularly beautiful for an iOS game, both on the iPad and iPhone, Jazz also enjoys a small price but great gameplay that make it hard to overlook. Its atmosphere and identity are strong, the music is fantastic, and even though its genre is overcrowded, it's really a title not to miss.- Posted Feb 6, 2012

This WipEout 2048 is a true technology feat. Visually sublime, fast as hell, it's a comprehensive game as well. If the 3 seasons of the solo campaign will not challenge much until the last races, they will make a good training for the enhanced strategic elements, before heading into the multiplayer campaign. A splendid title, perfect for nomad play.- Posted Feb 13, 2012

For sure, Uncharted Golden Abyss is not of the same quality than the previous, full-blown PS3 episodes, but it's a damn good portable version of it. Visually, it lacks a little variety and the art direction isn't as good as the others, but technically speaking, it's still one of the prettier games of the Vita, and a faire demonstration of its prowess. The adventure remains quite thrilling, it's full a little additions to take advantage of the Vita (and hey are not as gadget as one might think), and its definitely a must-have for this console launch.- Posted Feb 14, 2012

Rayman Origins for the PS Vita lightly uses touch controls, but eventually all this is not so important, as the game is so much enhanced by the OLED screen of the console. Rayman Origins Vita is identical to the sublime adventure experienced on home consoles, except that it doesn't feature any multiplayer mode, nor local or online. That's the real problem... but the game remains one of the biggest titles of recent years.- Posted Feb 21, 2012

Affordable, yet masterfully produced, with a very strong visual identity, this action puzzle game offers an unusual gameplay that works surprisingly well when grasped. It's a very nice, well-priced game that offers 4 to 5 hours of gameplay for puzzle and scoring aficionados.- Posted Feb 23, 2012

This third iteration is by far the best one. It's as pretty as ever, deeper and richer content-wise, and probably the best MMA "realistic" title today. Its only shortcoming : the new submission system, that seems a little too random. Other than that, if you're a fan, get it!- Posted Feb 29, 2012

Last episode of a trilogy in which we admire the writing, art direction and themes, Mass Effect 3 is the grand finale that we all wanted to play. There may be some technical issues, the action phases could be more convincing, but still, Mass Effect 3 promises a great, emotional and epic galactic adventure. Already one of the best games of 2012.- Posted Mar 12, 2012

After a 25 years retreat, Pit takes off again to defeat Medusa once more. More than a rail shooter, Kid Icarus Uprising is a true old school gem and one of the most ambitious 3DS titles to date. It's still tiresome to play for your wrist sometimes, and the plastic stand still requires you to find the better position, but the experience is worthwhile.- Posted Mar 22, 2012

Silent Hill Downpour may not be the most technically advanced game, nor boast the best polished gameplay, but it succeeds in what we were expecting from it : to be able to restore this icy, sweaty fear the series was known for.- Posted Mar 22, 2012

This new Angry Birds Space is as addictive as ever, all the while revising its core gameplay mechanics thanks to the Space Theme. Gravity and other tricks renew the formula beyond expectations, and the very low price of the game is all the more convincing, given that it's brilliantly designed.- Posted Apr 4, 2012

What's more yummy than an Action RPG that uses well the recipes of Zelda, Rygar and Castlevania combined? Something that does just that and more, a game that is a surprise for Nintendo, a true mature story of illness and love, a dark, and deep tale wrapped in old-school game design.- Posted Apr 13, 2012

Fez may not be as polished as its pairs, the Limbos and the Braids, but it's the indie gem we were expecting it to be. It's an ode to 8bit clichés for sure, but also a puzzler that will appeal to all the thinkers and explorers alike, filled with cuteness, an awesome soundtrack and atmosphere, and quite a load of secrets to uncover.- Posted Apr 16, 2012

It's fascinating to see how The Walking Dead, as a mainly dialog-based Point & Click adventure game, manages to be more subtle than "interactive movie" productions like Heavy Rain. It's a little like if Telltale set out to produce the best possible zombie game, but with the lowest body count ever. They understood that the power of the original material of The Walking Dead was not in the undead, but in the humans.- Posted May 21, 2012

Dexterity, wits, and a cold-blooded attitude, that's what you need to play VVVVVV, the indie platformer of Terry Cavanagh, well-known on the PC and now available on the 3DS. The port works perfectly well, and even though it doesn't make any use of the 3D whatsoever, it's as good as ever.- Posted Jun 11, 2012

If you liked the first episode, this one won't disappoint you. The formula created by Telltale works wonderfully. Fear, blood, proven game mechanics, and consequence-heavy decisions, all wrapped in a beautifully polished atmosphere supported by a captivating storyline. Quite enough to nullify its little shortcomings.- Posted Jun 29, 2012

Knights of the Round Cable is probably one of the best mobile games currently ; a simple yet completely addictive gameplay revolving around basic physics mechanics, and a perfectly well crafted touch control combined for a single purpose : getting the most gems out of a level by revolving around attach points with your little knight and his cable. Complete with in-app purchase for lazy gamers, it's one of those "Zone-Enabling" titles.- Posted Jul 16, 2012

Undeniably, Darksiders II is a gem shaped by passionate gamers for gamers. It's beautiful, it's epic, it's super-rich and varied, and even though the ending falls short compared to the journey itself, it would be a crime not to pay tribute to the impressive amount of work and effort Vigil put into this game.- Posted Aug 20, 2012

Guild Wars 2 was long-awaited; it's now out, and its gigantic amount of content and polish are undeniable. What is, though, is its "revolutionary" tag. Because it's clearly not a revolution, just one of the most comprehensive, detailed, and rich "Theme Park" MMO ever, with a welcomed focus placed upon comfort for players. What may be a revolution, though, is having this rich a game with no subscription and a decent, not forced-down-your-throat online shop.- Posted Aug 28, 2012

With this third episode, Telltale keeps demonstrating an astounding mastery. The gameplay gets more varied, the story is as sharply written as ever, and you will probably feel an emotional rollercoaster while playing it. With but two episodes remaining, The Walking Dead seems to stay on course for a much-deserved masterpiece label.- Posted Aug 31, 2012
