The wonderful hack-and-slash action combined with fluent animations and a beautiful visual presentation make Dust: An Elysian Tail an adventure that you don't want to let go. Fortunately, there's a lot to see aside from the main story in the world of Falana, as to postpone your goodbye with the game quite a bit longer.- Posted Aug 23, 2012

One of the best first person shooters available right now. The game has a unique character thanks to the required combination of tactical insight and pure skills. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive's gameplay won't appeal to everyone, but that's also its greatest strength.- Posted Aug 24, 2012

Dyad is like an incomplete informative flyer on drug usage. The 'racing game' comes with an obvious manual, but no one will explain to you why you're hanging in front of the television with dilated pupils an hour later, staring at the explosion of color and sound that appears to be emanating from the screen. Let the epilepsy-warning be seen as an invitation to one of the most amazing trips in recent years.- Posted Aug 30, 2012

For those who can choose, they should obviously choose the PC-version: it's best controlled with a mouse and keyboard. But the console-version is in no other way inferior to the PC-version. Even there it's one of the best multiplayer shooters available.- Posted Sep 6, 2012

Pro Evolution Soccer goes deeper than ever. Thanks to some well thought out additions, the gameplay can be altered more to the players wishes. Newcomers might have some trouble climbing the metaphorical ladder in the arena's (which are still devoid of any atmosphere), but PES-purists can go nuts. Is PES 2013 the ultimate soccer game? It's not, as long as its budget doesn't get a decent boost. It, for instance, lacks licenses and other decorations, but impresses with attractive, unpredictable and assertive soccer.- Posted Sep 19, 2012

Black Mesa is a lot of things. It's one of the best mods ever made and a package that offers every Half-Life fan what they want. It's also a chance for newcomers to get to know a game that has been put on a pedestal over the years, in a relatively modern way. But more importantly, it's a very special and entertaining look into the history of shooters.- Posted Sep 20, 2012

Matching the success of Angry Birds while introducing a new concept seemed like an impossible task for Rovia, but they succeeded with Bad Piggies. It combines that 'I'll-quickly-play-a-game'-feeling with challenging 'build-and-reach-the-finish-line'-puzzle gameplay. It's funny, addicting and last but not least: it doesn't have any birds in it.- Posted Oct 7, 2012

XCOM: Enemy Unknown lives up to its expectations, mostly, and is a successful remake of the 1992 strategy classic. Strategically the game is still as deep and challenging as it used to be, but don't expect a direct copy of the original. It's more accessible, options are more limited and the gameplay is faster. This is good news though, because it provides XCOM: Enemy Unknown with a modern look, while the strong concept of the original remains intact. It can, without a doubt, be recognized as one of the best strategy games of the year.- Posted Oct 8, 2012

The new Tomb Raider might be the best one since the original, because it lets go of the classic formula. The reboot gives us a young Lara Croft who ended up in a thriller in a jungle and responds to that like a human made out of flesh and blood. Unfortunately this direction was dropped in the second act, after which they thankfully restore themselves and make good on an adventure that you will not want to end.- Posted Feb 28, 2013

Persona 4: Arena is the result of an especially improbable, but successful marriage. Developer Arc Systems bring us one of the deepest and at the same time most accessible 2D-figheter ever. Atlus on the other hand, worked on the presentation with enough love and care to give Persona 4 a worthy successor. Do know that you're getting into though. Metro: Last Light can be mentioned in the same breath as big games like BioShock and Half-Life 2. Age of Reckoning is like a rough diamond that needs to be polished. The core of the game is more than fine and will offer you tons of enjoyable gameplay. The only thing that we are worried about is the support from developer Mythic. Despite some new features Fable 2 remains 'just' a sequel, with a lot of the same flaws from the first installment. As a player you'll have to look for a perfect balance between the storyline and exploring the game enviroment. Otherwise the game will probably end with you only seeing the half of it. The few flaws and short duration prevent the game from getting a high rating, but won't stop us from wanting a second part. -

The reason why Red Faction exists is the fact that we love to break stuff. A thing that this game does best. And it doesn't feel old after a couple of hours, because you can always choose a different way of playing. The boring story, somewhat dull surroundings, and few graphic hiccups won't change that. Guerrilla feels like a fresh new start for the series. -

DJ Hero is all about one thing: experiencing music, that one moment where you are totally in the zone and the music becomes part of you. With 93 great mashups that is no problem at all. -

IL2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey succeeds at bringing a flightsim to the consoles. The game delivers a few things that console gamers haven't had for years, but at the same time takes its place between the less-realistic alternatives on the consoles. If you can look past the minor flaws, Birds of Prey is recommended for the serious flightsim-enthusiast. -

The collision detection seems off sometimes and the game isn’t exactly an example of original gameplay, but this is the game you need to buy if you want to get to know the WWE-franchise. Smackdown vs. Raw can be played by anyone thanks to the simple gameplay and is also a looker. The game is also filled with different modes and options to make your own content to share it with friends online. -

The Beatles: Rock Band has become the ultimate Beatles experience. You can feel the passion Harmonix has put into this game by looking at it. It provides a feeling of Beatlemania for everyone who weren’t around when The Fabulous Four were so popular. Despite the more casual approach compared to previous Rock Band titles and the lack of some favourite songs, The Beatles: Rock Band is an example of how music games centered around specific bands should be. -

Thanks to the new tech-tree, the beautiful factions and solid gameplay, Supreme Commander 2 is a great RTS that belongs in the top of the genre. However, there are a few changes to the formula that will not please all hardcore fans. -

When you say ArmA 2, you say top-notch realistic gameplay. Take the large amount of bugs for granted and you will be rewarded with a game that comes close to reality with its scale and possibilities. This game separates the boys from the men. -

Shooting enemies and blowing things up, without having to think about complicated gameplay mechanics - That is Rocket Riot in a nutshell. With a unique retro look, this is a game that fans of Liero or Soldat don't want to miss. -

A fantastic finale of this colourful franchise. The story is pure genius, the action well thought out and the puzzles offer a lot of challenge. Let’s hope Insomniac Games keeps offering ways for us to enjoy this virtual world, perhaps through a subfranchise. We can’t miss the great one-liners from Captain Quark or the visual beauty and exotic weapons! -

Droplitz offers more depth and challenge than you would guess from its simple and abstract presentation, which makes it on the best puzzle games on XBLA. -

This Xbox 360 edition is the best Worms game to date, but the concept could definitely use an overhaul. -

Dirt 2 looked like it was becoming a pimped out version of the first game, with emphasis on the spectacle. But Codemasters once again delivers a formidable racer. Great graphics combined with challenging gameplay and an excellent racing experience make Dirt 2 a worthy successor. -

Band Hero is Guitar Hero 5's casual sister in almost every way. All the elements from her big brother can be found in this game, along with the new Sing Along-mode and Party Play. The new features, the casual style and matching tracklist have made this a game that can compete with SingStar on every party. Add the ability to import the songs from Guitar Hero 5 and World Tour into the game and Band Hero is a game that is truly for everyone. -
