You simply won't find a better space-shooter/sim on the market. This game's got it all: great plot, great missions, great sound and great fun! Psygnosis has got my vote for best PSX developer for 1997!

The graphics are mindblowing, while the gameplay is perfect and easy to get to grips with. Along with the substantial variety of tracks and the fun of the multiplayer mode, CTR is an experience not to be missed.

The weapons effects are likewise perfect, with the machine gun sounds being nothing short of thunderous and the sounds of bullets whizzing past your head being just like you'd imagine them.

We may be looking at the greatest game of the decade here.

As unbelievable as it may sound, NFS III is every bit as good as "Gran Turismo"! The racing is just as good, even without the excellent "Gran Turismo" mode. I would even give NFS III the edge on graphics

No other fighter on the PSX has so completely combined great graphics with great gameplay and replayability. Soul Blade simply stands in a catagory by itself.

One of the best games I have ever played. The graphics are superb, the gameplay out of this world. The sheer number of moves that Lara can perform is staggering.

The graphics fly by at an astounding rate, and are so impressive that they would not look out of place in an arcade... One of the most polished packages to grace the Playstaion.

Combining good action, dark drama, a splash of anime, and lots of Really Big Robots, this game is the must-buy Playstation RPG of the season... Square's greatest masterpiece since it started producing for Playstation, and I highly recommend this game to anyone who's even heard of "Final Fantasy."

The range of gameplay features is truly expansive beyond belief and one minute you may be charging around as a rhino, the next you may be riding in a slot car or mine cart or even a jet ski as part of the bonus games.

A breath of fresh air, a wonderful diversion, a good use of puzzle-solving energy. It’s like "Mario 64," but better. Any improvement over a game that got little but perfect ratings when it was released is an improvement to be applauded.

The colour and graphics in the game are flawless and your quest to find Majora's Mask is more intriguing and thought-provoking the deeper you get into the game.

Nintendo have created a beautiful game world and breathed life into it with puzzles, secrets, enemies, and loveable characters that will completely engross gamers around the globe. Stunning attention to detail is present throughout the game and is constantly evident in the visuals, audio and gameplay.

This game is the 'chill-out area' in the game nightclub, it is so peaceful, and gives a real buzz when you do well.

The level structure and overall design is top notch, resulting in a game which is fun and which instils the player with a feeling of progression.

While the package may not be quite as complete as that of Tekken 3, the things the game does well it does extremely well.

The exhilaration of managing to lose a cop by going down a little side alley, leaving boxes overturned in your path is just superb.

The battles, the jobs, the graphics, and the extras make this a wonderful package.

May not be the perfect game everyone expects from Square, but I challenge any FF player to get into it and not get hooked.

This game requires patience and practice - this may not make this such a great game for smaller kids or people who want to just get out there and race.

Seasoned gamers who are prepared to persevere will find it ultimately rewarding, however, as the stunning graphics and atmospheric sound makes it an engrossing experience.

It doesn't really break any new ground, but it's very compulsive playing (it's got bags of that 'just one more go' syndrome) and it's just good fun to play.

The music is incredible, catchy and well-written. But best of all, the concept is original.

Had the game lasted a little longer, and if the monsters had been a little more creative, this would be one of the best games ever made for the PSX.

Whilst Namco's latest offering may lack the pedantic attention to detail and realistic physics of Gran Turismo, it makes up for it with pure, high-octane thrills. And nothing else on the PlayStation can come close...

Street Fighter Alpha 3 won't steal the profile from the more flashy entries in the fighting genre, but those who know, will find the best fighting experience next to a "Virtua Fighter 3" arcade machine.
