The title has some decent graphics and sound, but amazingly, is less fun to play than good old B-17 Bomber on the Intellivision. Not only that, but it's not very realistic, either.

An intrinsically bland concept keeps this game from becoming a truly enjoyable hit, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's terrible. We had a few good times with PixelJunk Racers (especially the confusion of trying to figure out seven different people playing seven different colors), but you may be better off passing on this one.

There’s no one thing to point to as overtly broken; it simply dies by a thousand tiny cuts.

Its craft is sloppy, its design remains shackled by ill-conceived new ideas, as well as the limitations of the platform it hails from.

It’s the definitive version of a game that had very little going for it in the first place.

Play Tiger Woods 08 and skip this year's tour. It's a much more polished game with a lot more features.

This is one of those types of games that most people will hate, while a select few will find enormously addictive and a complete blast to play. I personally found myself to be somewhere in the middle, as there were times that I would lose myself in the game for hours on end, but for the most part I just lacked the desire to even load it up in my PS2.

The main story is boring to play, and the controls feel really unpolished.

Once you get your hands on the game, you'll find that it feels cheap and doesn't provide you with satisfying combat, which is what hack and slash titles are all about. If you're looking for zombie entertainment, I'd probably look elsewhere.

Every MMO I’ve ever played has issues at launch, but Defiance would be just okay even if it were working perfectly. It can't afford hiccups like these.

There's not enough of an RPG foundation to keep RPG purists' attention, there's not enough action to appeal to the mainstream gamer, and the linear feel of the game will leave most gamers feeling trapped (though there are sidequests here and there).

The plot never ramps up, the characters barely change, and the choice to make most NPCs a shopkeep and/or teacher makes equipping and learning new skills a mess, all of which keep Risen 3 from - ahem - rising to modern RPG expectations.

Flat and uninspired. It's a cheap version of "Mario Party" aimed at the younger generation.

Had the game upped the pacing, swapped out touch-screen control for traditional D-pad, added multiplayer and…oh, while we're throwing ideas out there, added an actual incentive – like a scoring system – to play the missions over again, then maybe Elite Forces: Unit 77 could have been one of those sleeper DS titles that slip in under the radar.

It's a failed caricature – its cute and charming appearance totally undermined by its frustrating and frequently bland gameplay.

For a caricature to succeed it must capture the likeness of the original but exaggerate it in a way that raises a smile. But F1 Race Stars rarely achieves this.

While the game has plenty of action, it gets old fast. Enemies are mindless and prefer attacks that involve charging directly at the player. Level designs lack variety and quickly get repetitive. Tarot cards and multiplayer modes help to give Painkiller a little depth, but ultimately it's a boring game.

The AI is very poor, the gameplay incredibly repetitive and really, any new modes in Dynasty Warriors 5 Xtreme Legends can't save its oh-so-very dated gameplay.

Entertaining, but much too brief. The puzzles are simplistic. Yes, the graphics are a sight, but do not make up for everything else lacking.

If you're truly after a vapid brawling experience, by all means, be our guest. Overall, however, AA is a shallow trip down license lane, and that's all, folks.

Everything about the game is just too slow and too repetitive and too awkward to hold your attention. The style is certainly worth checking out for a few minutes, but soon after that you're better off moving on to either an action title or more of a straight-up RPG.

If the gameplay was solid, then perhaps I could look past that, but with awkward controls and an unfinished feel, Kao The Kangaroo tries to leap just past the standard but falls short of making the jump to the next platform.

With SunAge, it's really a question of whether you're willing to put up with clumsy UI and control scheme to play a game that, for the most part, feels like it was or could have been made 10 years ago, and even then it would have been a middling game.

Candy Factory is a functioning puzzle game ported directly from its PC counterpart with a few Wii-centric waggles thrown in. The waggles are randomly responsive and can slow down your daily candy production.
