The single-player portion leaves a lot to be desired thanks to the shady AI, though it's still good practice. Multiplayer can be a lot of fun though, and that's really the whole point anyway.

Ultimately, I enjoyed Conviction and action gamers will, too. But temper those expectations. And maybe wait for a sale.

The first half of the game, Escape from Butcher Bay, certain shows its age, but is still an innovative game. The sequel, however, comes off as a poor imitation. It's far more frustrating and seems more shooter than anything else. It's not a terrible game for a sequel, but it's inferior to Butcher Bay.

An easy choice for party games. As for a single player game, though it contains cool mini-games and nice customization features, the lack of depth in the gameplay and that annoying AI make NBA Hoopz a game that you grab only when you have company over.

A more action heavy, AI driven combat system and a more robust command and control mechanism could have propelled the title into greatness if the story were a little better and the physics were a little polished.

MX vs. ATV Untamed is a solid game, but one that will eventually lose its hold on you. If you haven't played an offroad racer in a while, this is the one to get, but don't hold your breath for something that will entertain you for hours and hours on end.

Despite the Ship's diverse elements, they're fitted together fairly well. It's an intense experience to see someone walk by who may or may not be trying to knife your stomach. It definitely has a few faults, though.

When it comes down to it, Pets is hands-down the least significant and useful of the Sims 2 expansion packs.

I like Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, but I don’t love it as much as I’ve loved previous games in the series.

It's not even so much that the game can come off as a surprising date sim-lite turn-based adventure. It's that a couple of less defined game features weaken a title that would've otherwise been impressive.

On its own, WTS has the charm of old school arcade soccer games, a flair of simulation soccer and enough unlockables to keep you busy for a long time.

Eliminate is ambitious, intriguing, and out of balance. The initial price for a game that is obviously in an early stage of its evolutionary cycle is appropriate: free.

Although the game is able to provide players with a diverse array of gameplay modes and even some surprisingly heavy platforming elements, they all eventually wear thin. Even so, the game's cohesive sense of humor keeps the game entertaining.

Metal Slug 3 is a lot of fun, but this should be a $5 download. Especially when original, awesome-looking shooters such as Omega Five are storming Xbox Marketplace.

It's also a game that's kindly rounded out by superb control and targeting advancements, not to mention a now obligatory online mode, for however useless it may wind up being in the long run.

Overly simplistic and a bit formulaic, its unique approach to the genre isn't necessarily found in gameplay, but rather, it's style and presentation.

Both games are short and easy to breeze through (though, believe it or not some sections are a little tricky), but it must be said UGA performed an excellent job of making the sequel far better in every regard.

Fast RMX may not be the perfect anti-gravity racing package, but it certainly offers high-speed racing and a lot of tracks to challenge yourself on. It’s a shame that the online multiplayer offering is so barebones, and that the time trial mode is currently AWOL, but in lieu of an official Wipeout or F-Zero this is a solid option to get your arcade racing fix on the Nintendo Switch.

Balance issues and multiplayer bugs remain, but there's enough variety found in its tower defense scenarios and three classes to warrant donning the legendary monster hunter's hat either again or for the very first time.

Delivers entertaining hack-and-slash combat centered on combos and spells, but its risk-based reward system seems slightly out of place in a world where its hero so easily achieves great power and defense and makes risk obsolete.

The first expansion for Assassin's Creed II is a little underwhelming, but there is short-lived fun to be had with it. There is only around an hour of gameplay included, but the four dollar price tag is also easy on your wallet.
