DmC is a great reboot for the Devil May Cry franchise. A solid and brilliant combat system full of options. Ninja Theory creates a frantic campaign with good gameplay and interesting extras, but with some technical issues.- Posted Jan 14, 2013

EA and Mythic finally released their star title, and they did well on the lasts months. Warhammer Online manages to include one of the most interestings PvP systems of the recent MMO, and explodes the Games Workshop franchise to the bone. The Old World is live and rich, and it is out there for you to explore. If you join the order or the chaos factions you´re guaranteed hours of endless combat and hundreds of locations, enemies and items to visit, kill and collect. While is not top notch in visuals, it just do it very well taking the player into another universe. -

The second expansion to the most played MMORPG ever is here. New weapons, new armors, new abilities and a new class. But is it enough? Wrath of the Lich King is a great game, a great expansion, but do not expect to like it if you didn't enjoy the old World of Warcraft games. -

Sims is not an easy series to develop, the core concept is a very simple one and is too well exploited thanks to the endless expansions. But The Sims 3 has been successful in reinventing itself thanks to the new dimension opened by the presence of an urban environment that your Sims can explore at leisure. Having this open environment, combined with the improved visuals for the Sims themselves and the new personality system, makes this game something different, a fresh start. -

Relic tries to renew the genre with the sequel of the well known Dawn of War universe. This new iteration features deeper gameplay, focused on the action. Dawn of War II does not include the classic base management, and replaces it with a direct control on the evolution and level progress of your units. A good title packed with a poor multiplayer map array, being one of their problems. A great game that achieves to represent the perpetual war on the 40th millennium. -

CyberConnect2 makes the most impressive use of Cel Shading technique to this day to deliver a fantastic experience for Naruto fans. With its excellent animation and fluidity, Ninja Storm captures the spirit of Naruto even better than the animated series, perfect for an easy going game designed by fans for fans. With some type of online combat mode it would be the perfect experience for the entusiasts of Kishimoto's manga. -

Banjo is back. A whole new adventure featuring several old friends and some new characters, but in a completely new world. Neversoft presents a new iteration of Guitar Hero with remarkable steps to innovate over the formula and adding new and interesting concepts. 2K Sports carefully crafted the best basketball game in recent times. It was difficult to improve last year's entry, but they worked hard and launched an even better game. Gameplay-wise, it's quite similar to 2K8, but now it's more fluid, more complex and with the new DNA feature, that lets you customize your players. Let the new season begin! -

Dead Space is a pleasant surprise, it takes the best elements of classic terror sci-fi films and combines them with some of the most notorious ideas of games like Bioshock, Condemned, Resident Evil 4 or Doom 3. Instead of an improved but unoriginal copycat, the team managed to give this mix a distinctive personality, making it a great experience on its own. -

Laharl, the Prince of the Netherworld, has been asleep for two years. when he wake up, his vassall Etna tells him that his father is dead... after choking with a cookie. And this is just on of the most hilarious moments that will give you Disgaea DS. It also has an amazing gameplay that takes the SRPG premise and make it a whole new thing, more complex, deep and unique. Disgaea was one of the best PS2 games -- It later became a PSP must have, and now, it's happening the same on the DS version: if you like the genre, don't doubt it. -

This game takes what it needs to become one of the greatest RPGs of the Dual Screen, with a superb story that pushes everything what we've seen so far beyond the limits. InFamous is a superheroes' different history. Cole handles the options and power that the electricity has given him, and with them he can do the good or get squarely into the dark side. With a few excellent controls, many power unlockables and the freedom complete to move and to use them for Empire City, this game is the "sleeper" PS3 game of this year. At least it has demonstrated a quality and an amusement within reach of few games. -

Sega’s blue hedgehog comes back with his most unlikely incarnation: an RPG. Developed by BioWare, Sonic Chronicles is a good game, with a great pace, an interesting roster of characters, many things to do (especially side quests, BioWare’s favourites), and charming visuals. Sonic is back at his best, and we hope it’s the beginning of a new era for the hedgehog. -

The makers of Alien Hominid once again have taken a genre and have given it some fresh elements to create a game that feels unique and special. Four players on the screen, a plot that involves heroes and the rescue of various princesses, and a lot of funny moments are the ingredients of one of the best available games in the Xbox Live marketplace. If you are like us and you love the classic Beat’Em ups, you should really check out Castle Crashers. -

PES 2009 on the PS2 continues to be the benchmark in soccer games. Its gameplay and multiplayer fun are unrivaled. It still inherits the classical flaws from the series and it doesn't include the Champions League licenses its next-gen brother has, but it is the best option to recreate a soccer game nevertheless. It is obvious that the machine can no longer provide further improvements. -

If you think that 5th Cell was a company with only one great idea (Drawn to Life), you’re wrong. Lock’s Quest is deep, funny, intelligent, complex, and is full of details that make the game awesome and highly recommendable. Its most important feature is the mix of two genres, RPG and strategy, in a way never seen before in a portable game. Also, the game is very funny and has a nice storyline, so don’t doubt: get it. -

The King is back in this new rendition of the classic PC game. 3D Realms brings Duke Nuken 3D to Xbox 360 with new gameplay elements that make the adventure more interesting and also an extremely funny multiplayer that reminds us of classics like Unreal Tournament or Counter Strike. A retro travel in all its glory with a outstanding quality, even when compared to the best of the series. Megaman 9 is a mandatory buy for the fans of the blue bomber, and a highly recommended title for those with a taste for classic gaming. Geralt of Rivia is back with the best incarnation of his adventures. CDProjekt kept on working on their successful game in order to improve it, and they sure did. Muramasa: The Demon Blade's a piece of art, or art by itself. It's a simple beat 'em up that's set on the early Japanese history, mainly focused on the personal story of two wanderers that're trying to earn a living smashing every enemy that's set on their way. It's one of the most interesting games for this console, lacking an in-depth story, but still a very joyful one. -

GlaDOS is back in this XBLA game. Addictive, that's the only way in which a game like Bash Party can be described. The sequel of Boom Blox couldn't be more well-focused on every single way, not only including more gameplay styles, but also but tons of new levels -a sum of 400-, with plenty of bizarre and funny characters that give the game a strange, but fancy look. Guitar Hero Metallica lands with many cool new features and very good presentation. Taking the role of one of the greatest bands of all time is not an easy task, but the game manages well to give the player a huge amount of songs, while fitting well for different skill levels. Furious fret working and thundering drumming are the basics of what achieve to be a great tribute. Only the length of the songs, which can exhaust almost any player on highest difficulty and the decision to not be compatible with other downloadable content different than Death Magnetic are real drawbacks on this great game. -

Armored Princess is a faithful expansion over the original, with little novelties. It could be argued it doesn't need it, as there are so few games with the personality of this one, but if you are a experienced The Legend player, you should decide if you want more of the same or not. If you are a new player, this is a good opportunity to get the hang on this game, but the original is perhaps more surprising. -

The latest Wii Sports makes the original seem lacking in every department. With plenty of new gameplay modes, the inclusion of WMP and a bunch of new additions, 'Resort' is set to be one of the most important videogames of this summer. Fallout 3 gets new content and Broken Steel set a new quality level on the downloadable content for this game. Expanding the level cap up to 30 and adding a nice set of new items, enemies and weapons is only one of the features of this expansion. Colin McRae Dirt 2 is one of the best driving games ever. The tech is great, it has a lot of options, a huge array of competitions, and its fun, fast and amazing. Outstanding. It's the only way to describe the first work of the Spanish workgroup Akaoni Studios. They wanted to create a shooter involved with the classical gameplay-style of the genre and they've done it. It's probably the most beautiful game on the WiiWare - it's a pity that its lifespan it's just a couple of hours. Mafia II follows the steps of the first one, showing that there is more than one way to use sandbox space. Kill with Skill is a perfect slogan for an action game with so many ways of executing enemies. Filled with a great sense of humour, the main campaign is the star in this game. It was designed in a way that we always find new things to do, completing the incredibly large list of skills with a good variety of weapons and situations. You really have to think before you act, planning how you're going to attack in order to get greatest amount points that is possible, taking into account not only the enemies, but the environment. But when you finish the game... you have two options: you're really competitive and want to be the first one in the charts, or you just abandon the game because of its lack of cooperative mode or an interesting multiplayer. Regardless, but you should not miss such a unique campaign.- Posted Feb 22, 2011

This title offers some interesting multiplayer options, a 15 mission based campaign and a set of amazing cinematics. Halo Wars is interesting experience on Xbox 360 . -

Maybe not your average RTS, but Sins of a Solar Empire achieves something that other games don’t: it’s a compelling game, and from the moment you pick it up, you can’t avoid playing it until the end. With missions that last several days or weeks, users can exploit the deep gameplay thanks to its easy interface, in a very tactical game, but also really fun, both offline and online. -

Aion isn't the revolution the genere probably needs, but it is definitely a well-designed MMORPG that is going to be specially enjoyed by all those PVP fans that want a deeper experience while fighting other players. Beautiful graphics, excellent performance and almost no bugs/problems. It definitely deserves a try. -

A luck of a game for any music-lover that's willing to find any studio mixer made exclusively for the handheld. Beaterator offers lots of content with the north american producer Timbaland, and hell if he doesn't really suit this role. A must-have if you're interested in this field. -

This is the last entry of the original Phoenix Wright trilogy. It includes all-new runabouts that are set in the past and present of the ace attorney. The story is very well-driven, and it links every character in the game with each other, leading to a great conclusion. Sure, it's not the best DS game at a technical level, but it offers everything that we want in a Phoenix Wright game: it's fun, big, interesting and charming. -

Rockstar invites us to the great city of Los Angeles. You are a newbie who tries to climb the ladder of success in the world of urban racing. Race against all kind of rivals, escape from police, and enjoy the many modes available, both online and offline. The lower feature of the game is its huge difficulty, which affects the fun factor. -

Conviction is a good game, faithful to the series, with great visuals and a perfect mix of action and stealth. But the solo experience is extremely short, there are several AI flaws, and all of the multiplayer game modes are just for up to two players. Good ideas, but it's not as polished as previous entries. -

Prototype has great potential, but unfortunately, it does not deliver everything we expected it to. Great fun, lot of possible evolutions and powers, action and a lot of blood; everything well mixed in a game that should have been a little more polished in order to improve its presentation. -

Ghostbusters on Wii is very much the same game that we tried on PS3 a couple months ago, but with a new gameplay style based on wiimote/nunchuk and a very interesting graphic engine. The fun's still in there, lacking an online feature that's replaced for the co-op mode. -

Ghostbusters does honor the movie. An entertaining game, with a huge array of gameplay possibilities. Some technical issues (judgements), problems with the AI, and a steep learning curve are the main problems with a game that could have fared much better. Nevertheless, it is a game recommended to the fans of Ivan Reitman's film, and to those who love the comedy of the 80s. To be a ghostbuster is the ultimate experience. -

Blood Bowl features some interesting ideas, like introducing a real-time component to the universe of the board game. Furthermore, it really achieves the look and feel of the miniature game, providing a experience that resembles the original product without any doubt. Despite the fact that this is a product that fit good the fans liking, it can be interesting for every kind of gamer. Only the real time mode, that quickly become a nonsense melee is a visible drawback for a good planned and constructed game. -

Arcade racing game with ATVs as the starring roles. Clean, soft and detailed graphics with a nice taste in stage and acrobatics design. The ability to play online along with 15 more people is its strongest point, though the core mechanic of the game itself proves to addictive on its own, being entertaining and spectacular as few others. Should it have more variety in vehicles to play with, it could even stand up to Motorstorm 2. -

Red Alert 3 is not the deepest RTS you can find, and its hilarious video sequences gives it a juvenile tone, but that is part of the fun. EA LA celebrates and exaggerates some of the most defining aspects of the series, offering an intense a shiny game that captures the essence of its name. While the introduced co-op mode has big potential for the future of the RTS, in this case it actually produces some non-severe balancing problems in the campaign. -

Volition changed the genre for the third entry in the Red Faction series, but it works. Fun, full of content, good explosions and demolitions, and a huge array of possibilities. Great both online and offline, it's a shame that its plot is so weak and technically it could have fared better. -

Treasure gives us exactly that, a treasure. It’s an improved version of the classic Bangai-O, originally released for the N64 and later ported to Sega Dreamcast. More than 200 levels are waiting for a solution, and believe us: this is not especially easy. Take weapons and become the new Bangai-O rider to complete one of the funniest DS games. Indeed, Spirits includes a great level editor. -

Obsidian doesn't produce the prettiest games, or the ones with the most impressive production values, but if there is one thing this studio does very well it's writing and they give another lesson of that with Alpha Protocol, inventing a solid, interesting and intriguing story in a world of spies and conspiracies. But beyond the quality, the most impressive thing is how the studio has managed to integrate decisions with story in a convincing way, creating a game where different choices, playstyles and attitudes have a direct impact on the narrative. -

Battleforge is an interesting hybrid that arrives to the PC market with options to became a game played by lots of people. Mixing elements of RTS and MMO, it packs an impressive number or game cards that the player will treat as creatures, spells and structures. Featuring a cooperative-competitive gameplay, and lots of elements directly taken from the massive online games, it quickly becomes a fun entertainment. Either collecting the cards with the micropayment system or getting them as reward for the gameplay, Battleforge is a fun experience, whose only downsides come from the nonexistent balance of forces at the game. -

Life is pleasant in Pinata Island, and this time it’s even better. Rare took the garden-pinata-simulator and upgraded it at every possible level: better visuals, more creatures, a great coop mode, and several new features to decorate our place. With a much better tutorial at the beginning and the incredible Pinata Vision, Trouble in Paradise is the best simulator for Xbox 360, and everyone can enjoy it thanks to its simplicity. -

RARE built a pocket -but charismatic- paradise for the Nintendo DS with this new addition to the Viva Piñata series. Take care of some little paper-animals, cultivate flowers, and keep your garden tidy in this brilliant adaptation of the Xbox 360 game that also includes multiplayer options and a very colorful graphic engine that takes the DS to the limit. Play just five minutes and you’ll get lost; it’s incredibly fun. -

For a small price, those who have not yet experienced Colonization can enjoy it now for what it is: a real classic in the 4X genre; the experience is more or less the same and the mechanics are as clever now as they were in the original one. For those who experienced it, it's a nice update with a well put interface, a good way to keep playing it without the mandatory use of DosBox. -

Despite the technical flaws (horrible camera, not so impressive visuals, bad voice over...), Star Ocean is a game that delivers a great experience, thanks to its fun and deep gameplay, the many things we can do, and the development of characters. Age of Empires: Mythologies is based in the same great game design used in its prequel, Age of Kings. The game has been expanded with more units and options like the new god powers. And if you get tired of the very long campaign, which can last more than 20 hours, you can compete using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and the added multiplayer mode. One of the best strategy games for Nintendo DS. -

Following the work of Infinity Ward with "Modern Warfare", Treyarch has made a good work following those steps as close as possible, while adding elements of their own. The grim scenario of the Russian campaign is a clear highlight and a triumph for the studio, and the same could be said of the four player cooperative mode. However, we miss more evolution on the graphics engine, and some elements added to the multiplayer experience don't convince us. -

Tomb Raider Underworld is one of the best entries in this long-running series. Inspired in one of the most beloved games produced in Spain, La Abadía del Crimen for Spectrum, The Abbey is a really good graphic adventure with great production values, excellent animation and a noteworthy sense of humour. MotorStorm: Pacific Rift features everything that made the original successful: wild, arcade races with plenty of vehicles to choose. This time, besides, it's done with so much detail that the experience feels fresh and new. 16 different tracks, doubling the original, and with very clever course designs counting on which kind of driver are you. And, of course, a better multiplayer, both online and offline. Definitely a very good refinement. -

The Broken Bond is a great follow-up for last year's Rise of a Ninja. Bigger, longer, with more characters and a new team system. Brutality, tons of blood and the most violent show ever seen to come exclusively to Wii. Former Clover members prove their talent with this beat'em up portrayed with this comic-book look drawn with black, white and red colors. Modern art with a great sense of humor mixed with a macabre tone, MadWorld can only be blamed for its 6 hours campaign and the little depth it offers as a brawler, compared to the biggest games in the genre. -

Rune Factory is no less than a Harvest Moon or a typical JRPG game. Its outstanding graphics are just another way to justify the incredible amount of objects and diary labors that gamers will be able to live after day 1.
