  1. The Tudors, Showtime's all-of-the-above series, comes roaring back Sunday night as fresh as its first season.
  2. “The Assassination of Gianni Versace” is more personal and heartfelt than Murphy’s “The People v. O.J. Simpson,” and proves that when it comes to seductive allure laced with menace, no one in TV is Murphy’s match.
  3. The show is a hoot-and-a-half...I just thought Nip/Tuck was so over-the-top that it was crazy. It is crazy, but it's also funny and can even be deep about the shallow world of cosmetic surgery.
  4. It just feels like nothing else you've seen on TV.
  5. What this well-written series does not need is a character [Louise Ellison (Jennifer Ferrin), a NYC reporter] whose only job seems to be moving the story along with expository dialogue in the guise of interviews.
  6. Ed Harris, picking up where Yul Brynner left off in the film, cuts a menacing figure as the Man in Black, a killing machine determined to find a maze that may lead him out of the park. In between these golden nuggets are meandering scenes that take a long time to acclimate park visitors (Jimmi Simpson, Ben Barnes) to the repertoire of narratives on display.
  7. Cinema Verite works in the same off-kilter way that HBO's "Grey Gardens" worked.
  8. Elementary actually works on many levels, not the least of which is his reason for being in NYC.
  9. The acting is as good as you'll see on TV (take a hard look at the genius of RJ Mitte, who really does have CP). And the script and plot are as out-there as creator/writer/producer Vince Gilligan's other series, "The X-Files."
  10. Don't get me wrong, there are some good laughs here, but there's also the threat that 30 Rock could easily turn into that thing the writers relentlessly make fun of--TV shows and stars that are too smug, too smart and too out-of-touch for their own good.
  11. Fewer models with more time to talk about themselves and much less about the "fabulous people in the industry" that treated them like goddesses would have made this documentary as good as it is glamorous.
  12. The premise--and it's a good one--is a singing contest "American Idol"-style, for young singers to compete for the grand prize of a recurring role in a seven-episode arc of "Glee." And it's not some fake promo for the show with people who really have nothing to do with the show.
  13. An intriguing new series.
  14. Now that that ship has left the dock, they're back with a tremendously interesting new concept. This time it's The Apprentice for a bad economy.
  15. Thorne: Sleepyhead, has enough twists, turns, red herrings and multi-layered narrative to keep you couch-bound for its entire two hours.

  17. This show is genuinely ingenious, and hilariously outrageous - not to mention courageous. Plenty of people will find Chappelle's Show offensive - but then again, whenever you do something completely new, it's bound to offend somebody. In this case, it will offend a lot of somebodies.   19. While the first two episodes of Top of the Lake focus on Robin’s complicated, unfortunate past, the clues in the murder story unfold very slowly--probably too slowly for American audiences--but when they finally do, the series, directed by Jane Campion (“The Piano”), picks up some steam.
  20. Simple and fun, if not exactly memorable.
  21. And that's the problem. Is it horror or just horrible? Is it scary or just bloody?
  22. This show could evolve into something more interesting than a guilty pleasure.
  23. There are things to love about it - two of them to be precise: Kevin Dillon and Jeremy Piven.
  24. When Masters stops himself from punching Johnny, Sheen--who has the least showy role here--has his finest moment. The exquisite Caplan, on the other hand, is given many chances to shine, and doesn’t let any of these moments slip away.... Season 3 promises to be the show’s wildest year yet.

I never thought I'd love a reality show, because mostly I hated all those shows with their wannabe models, fat yutzes and half-wits who try to be as smart as the fat yutz from "Survivor" but are dumber than a family tree of Bushes. But this one actually is so good I am already addicted.

  27. A hilarious new sitcom about a female vice president of the United States, Selina Meyer, played with insanely good timing by Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
  28. More entertaining than its network stablemate “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., ” Agent Carter is a lighter, welcome addition to the ranks of TV’s kick-ass women, from Kalinda Sharma on “The Good Wife” to Carrie Mathison on “Homeland.”
  29. It’s nice that Will Ferrell plays (a skewed) version of himself in the second episode--he was likely corralled by his former “Saturday Night Live” cohort Amy Poehler--but Welcome to Sweden succeeds on its own merits.
  30. The story isn't quite as fresh, nor the message as warming, but there are wall-to-wall zippy pop numbers to keep your little girls squealing happily.
