Has good turn-based, operational mode, that unfortunately is not backed up by solid tactical combat. The commanding feels clumsy and unintuitive, and information feels like it's hidden from the commander. The old masters of tactical WW2 combat still remain unbeaten. [May 2010]

UberSoldier does not dare to do anything bold with its undead protagonist. Instead, the game remains a generic WW2 shooter, although a technically adept one. [April 2006]

A great game on another platform. Modern Warfare looses much of its graphical glory on Wii and the point & click shooting style works much better with mouse & keyboard or with Smith & Wesson than what it does with Wiimote & nunchuck. With these deficits the game drops down to a mediocre experience. [Dec 2009]

Has a good feel of the world of Narnia in it, but as a game it is rather dull and average. Good fun for the fans of the movie. [Jan 2006]

I liked the first Medal of Honor, but this is a very average military shooter. The game's feel of authenticity is lost, missions are shooting from a cover with a handful of door breaches, and missions just go on and on and on. And the family aspect... [Nov 2012]

A point 'n' click adventure with fresh ideas and a good storyline. However, the game is full of stupid problems, like stick hunting, and the voice actors are quite bad. [Feb. 05]

FIFA Street 3 is a huge improvement compared to the earlier versions of the series. Lack of decent game modes and poor AI are the biggest reasons to complain about. [Mar 2008]

Point'n click adventure that relies heavily on its intriguing storyline, likable main characters and nice puzzle design. Unfortunately it has a big shortcoming. The seemingly never-ending dialogue turns the player into a reader. In other words the game is unbalanced: one spends more time watching than actually playing. It’s a pity, really. [Aug 2009]

Fractured Soul is a quite clever 2D platformer, but there are too many instant death moments with no nearby checkpoints. [May 2013]

Contra Rebirth is a hard and short run & gun -shoot 'em up. It's pure neo-retro: It's done the way they used to be done and that's not necessarily a good thing. [Dec 2009]

A mediocre and out-of-date tactical game. Stupid AI, lack of immersion and no dynamic campaign or even smoke in the battlefield are not what you would call 'meeting today's requirements'. [June 2007]

Il-2: Battle of Stalingrad boldly seeks to renew the genre by adding modern game design elements to the admittedly often sterile genre of flight simulators. Unfortunately not only does the bold attempt fail spectacularly, the developers also seem to have completely forgotten what made the original Il-2 a legend. The Rise of Flight legacy shows in the rather impressive visuals and physics modeling, but strangely a lot of its nice features didn't make the cut either and the “sequel” falls short of its predecessor in many ways. A really intriguing mixture of genres. There's a sandbox world to explore, lot's of first-person shooting and some role-playing, with space flight and combat thrown in to tie it all together. It's unfinished, badly written and at times not very fun, but there's nothing out there like it. [Oct 2011]

F.E.A.R.: Extraction Point has great action scenes, but none of them feel any different from what was seen in the original F.E.A.R. What really ruins the expansion is the lacklustre storyline, which basically gives you no answers. [Dec 2006]

Now with added unlockables and online play, Final Fight's simple but satisfying gameplay is as fun as ever. But surely Capcom could have coupled the classic beat 'em up with something better than the lacklustre Magic Sword? [June 2010]

Decent sneak-and-shoot FPS. The Cold War theme is refreshing and the X-ray camera rocks. Unfortunately the game is lacking in the AI department and never builds enough tension to really pull you in. [Dec 2005]

Gears of War is the same hide'n'seek shooter, that we all saw in 2006. If you strip away all the technical awe, you'll have a predictable and quite boring 10 hour romp through grey and brown warzone. [Sept 2015]

Home offers an intriguing concept, but doesn't quite pull it off. The story isn't very satisfying and the choices game forces you to make rarely have meaningful consequences. It's an okay little horror experience, but it could've been much, much more. [Aug 2012]
