Skyriders is a polished arcade racer in Super Monkey Ball esque levels. If you are looking for a game to mesmerize you while you are chasing stars it is definitely worth grabbing.

The presentation is more polished than the original, but it will not win any accolades for graphics. There is simply too much grey, and the bloodspatter isn't over the top. I would have liked some wicked splashes of blood littering the screen. As for sound it is ok too.

True Skate is a marvel showcasing what can only be done on a touch screen, a game that mimics the real life activity closely.

A sadistic, unforgiving level of difficulty. This must have been made in the 80's.

Polara is a fresh entry in the endless runner genre featuring a quick, and clever colour-shifting mechanic. Slow to start, but once you get to harder levels the game becomes hard to put away. At that point the lack of graphical flair doesn't matter, and I can only do one thing: keep running. And yes, die.

Also a good thing is that screeching to a halt just before the last flag to successfully complete a stunt – especially one of the trickier ones – is actually quite satisfying. It's pretty much all you could ask for in a game like this which probably has hundreds of relatives in the AppStore. Go then, strap on your helmet, rev your engine, and try not to fall into a canyon. Katie Cowpusher wouldn't be happy with that.

Girls Like Robots is a quirky seating arrangement, or rather relationship simulator set in a high school love drama. It is perhaps the most serious game to be published by adult swim. It does however have a sense of humour, and despite not having anything fart or die horribly it is a fun game. There aren't many games on the App Store with this kind of gameplay, and as such it certainly fills a gap between Joining Hands and Triple Town.

But it's a shame that the game doesn't realise how ridiculous it is. Visually it's so over the top that you're waiting for some humour; an in-joke or two, or some sort of nod and wink that it knows exactly what it's doing. But it never comes, with everything instead being played completely on the nose.

Blade Guardian does one thing out of the ordinary, and it doesn't work well. There are a sea of tower defense titles out there, and Blade Guardian seems content to blend in.

Devil's Attorney has got nothing to do with Phoenix Wright. There I said it in the final paragraph. Many had hoped for a new text based adventure game set in a courtroom, but alas Devil's Attorney is not it. It is however a truly fun turn based strategy game set in that very same courtroom. I highly recommend it.

Re-Volt Classic is a true gem in the racing genre giving countless hours of challenging racing, star-chasing and swearing at evil opponents blasting you with electric bolts. The price is on the high side, and I would have liked it lower to get more players to jump on the buy button. If you want a game that you can really sink your teeth into Re-Volt Classic comes highly recommended.

So it's a polished game let down by a morally corrupt IAP system that is directly to blame for everything bad in the world today.

Pilot's Path is a mediocre game with an IAP system that can take away your purchases, and a secondary IAP system that could disappoint you in ways that I may never know.

Grow Away suffers from not being that fun in the long run with a lot of repetition, and gameplay that isn't interesting enough.

Payback 2 HD would have been better off if the name had been Payback Arcade, or something that made it sound less of a sequel. Because this is not a sequel in any way, and for those looking to play some GTA like missions I can only say: stay away.

Earn To Die is fun for a while until you realise that you don't really need to focus to get good distances on your rides. Too easy, and short with too little demand for precision jumps and landings. Still fun, and those darn zombies have deserved it.

The word 'design' is at the heart of why I love Bad Piggies, I honestly felt in many levels that I was not simply discovering the developers' solution. Rather, I felt that I had designed my own. The developers placed intelligent limits on the player's independence, but give the player enough room to feel ownership of their accomplishment.

Jumpster has a lot going for it. But constant IAP reminders and a sneaky time-lock such a short time into the game promote more frustration than enjoyment, which results in a massive shame.

MechWarrior: Tactical Command is a game that might have received a more favorable welcome had it been released 4 years ago when RTS games were unheard of on iOS devices. Even so, the game's poor controls and AI make it almost unplayable, and the graphics engine reminds me of Bungie's Myth series from the late 90s.

So FIFA 13 elicits less of a salivating exclamation, and more of a slow, knowing nod. One that gets more knowing as you discover how much it's been improved, in little, but significant, ways.

This is indeed a great game package. The presentation displays a lot of love, appreciation of detail and artistic talent. The music is excellently produced and has just as much whimsical personality as the visuals, and you can even unlock a range of wallpapers for your phone as you progress. What more do you want?

Speaking of graphics, the death animations are quite disconcerting. There's something about the way your penguin lies face down on the ice when it's game over that really motivates you to make sure they don't die. And if that's an intentional move on the developer's part, I shall not argue. These penguins aren't super you know.
