FIFA 12 enhances the exceptional gameplay of the last years and makes a bold change in defense, which forces players to pass through a process of adaptation (although they can turn on the "classic" defense), but shines like the previous games.

Forza 4 manages to be a great simulator and an addictive game at the same time. It knows how to entertain, reward and engage the players, with an intelligent career mode, and its new online features are great. Hands down the best racing game on the Xbox 360.

This PC version is without question the Battlefield DICE wanted to do. It is the ultimate and recommended version of Battlefield 3, superior to the console versions. Although the campaign mode and the cooperative missions have much to improve, its competitive multiplayer is overwhelming and will provide hours of fun for months and even years.

CD Projekt has achieved a great game, translating the essence of the excellent game they made for PC to Xbox 360, without diluting it in the proccess. It is one of the best games for the Xbox 360; it's deep, complex and mature, and very good news for RPG fans.

More fighters and stages than ever, graphic and control improvements, tons of videos and customization elements to unlock, good online modes and four-player battles. Is there anything else you could ask for? It's not the most revolutionary Tekken, but it is the most complete one.

FIFA 13 is the most realistic and complete football game available, full of content to keep us busy till the end of the season. It looks for imperfection in every match –when controlling the ball, shooting, passing, etc.– in order to bring an experience closer to real football, something that some players might not like, even though we consider it's a fresh addition to the gameplay. Once again, the football game we would recommend.

Once again, the best basketball simulator, beating its only rival –itself. Better animations and some new additions to the gameplay move the game one step forward, even though it isn't any revolution for the series. For the Spanish-speaking players: for the first time NBA 2K offers Spanish commentators, so good news for you!

Brilliant. It's perfect for its proposal, and creates a universe that leaves us hoping that this is just the beginning of a great series. It won't give you something really new, but it's different from what we're used to playing in this generation, which is worth appreciating. A game to remember.

A natural evolution of the series that sets the groundwork for new episodes. There are no huge innovations, but it sticks to its core development and Halo fans will love it. A great campaign and and immense multiplayer – with the promise of free weekly content – will keep us busy for a long while. A must-have without any doubt.

A must-have, one of the games of the year, that gives meaning to this world of entertainment. We would have loved to see the same audiovisual ambition applied to the gameplay, or at least, some kind of attempt of bringing something new to it. Still, this is one of the masterpieces of the genre that you cannot miss.

Resistance: Retribution is today probably the best 3rd person action title for the PSP, not only or its excellent story and impeccable gameplay, but also for the huge possibilities its multiplayer modes offer, and the possibility to connect with Resistance 2 for the PS3. Undoubtedly a very important title in the PSP portfolio, and a must buy for all the action fans.

Capcom has done an excellent and refined job, trying to find the balance between accessibility for newcomers and those hunters who love complexity and difficulty.

The first LostWinds is probably one of the most attractive and interesting games of the Wii (not only WiiWare), and Winter of Melodias completely surpasses it.

Maybe we could have waited for some new features from Obsidian, apart for the scenario change and some new improvements in gameplay. But you could also ask why change something that works so well. The recommendation is clear: If you liked Fallout 3, don't hesitate in getting New Vegas.

2K Sports raised the bar very high last year, and we though it would be very difficult for another entry to surpass it. Fortunately we were mistaken, and it improves almost everything from the previous game, with new and revamped game modes, basketball legends and more fun matches. A must-have.

It is not a game for everyone, but From Software can again be proud of producing an instant classic in the action-RPG genre, which will be talked about for years. It is not as surprising as the original Demon's Souls, as we had great expectations for this spiritual sequel, but it improves on it and becomes one of the greatest games of the year.

It is not as surprising as Arkham Asylum, but it improves upon it, updating and enhancing all its elements, and also allowing us to feel like Batman patrolling the troubled streets of Gotham. Although with few new features in gameplay, it is the best Batman game ever made, and one of the best games of this year.

Bigger, longer, better, funnier, and the list goes on and on. It comes closer to perfection, and even though there's still room for improvement, Borderlands 2 will be one of those game we'll remember in a few years when we think about "the previous generation".

Criterion just did it again. This is one of the best driving games we've seen in the last few years. Full of content and with many hours of fun waiting for us, no matter if we're playing alone or online. It shows that probably the only way to improve an open-world title is waiting for a more powerful hardware, since Criterion can only beat itself. Definitely a must-have.
