I found 1 vs. 100 much more enjoyable [than Deal Or No Deal]. [23 Oct 2006, p.37]
If NBC must use game shows as spackle to fill holes in its schedule, it could do worse. It already has.
There's no shame in enjoying the entertainment provided by these game shows, which are a step above some of their TV competition, but if knowing all the answers in 1 vs 100 makes you feel smart, then you must be pretty stupid.
Prime-time game shows like “1 vs 100,” which begins tonight on NBC, are not a test of a contestant’s erudition or nerve; they are aspirational reality shows that allow ordinary Joes to go for it all in the hope of transforming their lives.
"1 vs. 100" isn't really bad. Its only serious trouble is the pacing. In an hourlong episode, I count just 14 questions.
There is a lot that is ridiculous here.
