In looks and structure, Arrested Development is like a 30-min. drama, just a hilarious one. In most network sitcoms nowadays, the wisecracking characters are aware that they're being funny. The oblivious Bluths are funny despite themselves.
The reigning Emmy comedy champ debuts its second season with an episode that may well be its funniest... TV bar's for comedy has been raised again. [5 Nov 2004, p.4]

SEASON 2
Probably one of the smartest seasons of television ever written. David Cross is especially brilliant this season in his portrayal of Tobias Funke. Overall a perfect season.

Part of what makes his series hilarious is the riotous pace and innovative comedic rhythms that sneak up on viewers. This distinctive style is as different from TV's old "Laverne & Shirley" model as third-wave ska is from Perry Como. [7 Nov 2004, p.F-15]

If the season premiere is any sign, Arrested Development is going to be just as wacky as last season. [6 Nov 2004, p.13E]
One weakness in the show is that each character has a showoff story line that splinters the narrative rather than unites it. And sometimes the hyper-arch tone gets a little tiresome. But only sometimes. Mostly, a talented cast and funny, imaginative writing make each episode a pleasure. Arrested Development is watched by critics, but it deserves a bigger, perhaps better audience.
I used to like Arrested Development, and now I don't...So shoot me.
This is my favourite and the best season of AD. It has some of my favourite episodes like Meat the Veals, Motherboy, Good Grief, and Sword of Destiny, as well as some of the greatest moments including the Loose Seal, Afternoon Delight karaoke, Tony Wonder, and... Her? Perfect.

SEASON 2
This season still manages to keep it's brilliance and especially the genius running gags. Maeby becoming a studio exec. was probably one of my most intriguing part of the season. This season is definitley one of the funniest seasons of Arrested Development. Mrs. Featherbottom, and The chicken dances were to die for. This season shows the brilliance that the writers had because it's still funny. 10/10 Amazing.

Pretty much a flawless season of the best comedy ever on TV. Highlights include Motherboy, "Has anyone in this family ever seen a chicken?," A loose seal, the Hot Cops, and Mrs. Phyllidia Featherbottom. Watch it now.

Hands Down, Best Comedy TV show of all time (sorry FRIENDS). I remember watching a few episodes of the show back when it was on aired but i didn't realize the sheer greatness of it till a few months back when i finished watching the entire series, which unfortunately consists of just 3 seasons. The show has some great storylines and arcs, wonderfully created characters, subtle and utterly hilarious humor and on top of all one of the most perfectly constructed show i have ever seen. Packed with a stellar cast that equally gives brilliant performances, making it a great ensemble. Bateman, Tambor, Arrnet, Walters, Cross, Cera i mean literally everyone just epic performances.
