Batman: The Animated series is still hands down the greatest on screen superhero adaptation there has ever been, (yes, it kicks Christopher Nolan's ass, but his movies are flawed and overrated anyway) and I doubt there will ever be anything that can top it. It just got everything right. It took the character's seriously, but it never felt like it was trying to be too real thanks to some stylish and incredible animation. That combination alone makes it perfect, and it's something no film has ever been able to achieve, but the strengths of this series just keep coming. The acting is fantastic, especially Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as The Joker, both of whom I still think are the definite actors for the characters and thank god they still do them occasionally. The idea of episodic stories also works incredibly well since it allows the writers not only to develop character's even deeper but it gives them a chance to include as many wonderful villains as possible without feeling overcrowded like a film would, and never seeming to gratuitous like a long running film series would. To put it simply, this show is perfection in every way, and it's the true example of a comic book fan's dreams come true, not some over-serious, over-pretentious piece of crap from Chris Nolan. I've experience as a child and an adult, and it's an absolute joy from both perspectives, it's simply a series that isn't matched. Expand

Spectacular TV show. The best adaptation of Batman in a television series ever, and, quite frankly, the best superhero TV show ever made. It never gets old.

Here is a series so clearly aware of it's target audience yet not afraid to push the envelope. It boldly introduces complex themes and let's the characters duke it out in gorgeous art deco animation.

The best adaptation of Batman out of comics. It has something for everyone and its a very good show. You might be thinking this is just another stupid kids cartoon, your wrong. Its got a dark atmosphere a nice art style to it and a great voice cast starring Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy and many others. This is a dark emotional show that is very nostalgic and deserves to be watched byThe best adaptation of Batman out of comics. It has something for everyone and its a very good show.
