There are many small and wonderful dramatic accomplishments in the underappreciated gem that is Battlestar Galactica, but perhaps the most enduring is that what was conceived of as an epic space adventure has turned into a finely detailed, intimate drama.

this is easy - Battlestar Galactica is one of the best tv series ever created.
from season 1 to the end - bitter/sweet ending, probably more bitter than sweet. of course, everyone will have episodes you like the most or more than others, but overall BG is 20/10... and as the times goes - can only wish modern (202x) filming industry (that basically broke thru all bottom lines by now) can create something at least half as good as BG

SEASON 4
Crisp and tense, this Sci Fi Channel staple looks destined to make a headlong plunge toward the finish line in pursuit of that elusive place called Earth.
The multitude of exegeses and theories devoted to major plot twists and minor details attest to the series’s enduring egghead appeal.
But of what actually happens, I will say no more. You'll have to watch it yourself. And you should.
Never mind the feminine religious cult Baltar falls into in this premiere. Add that to the clue-packed promotional photograph circulating of the BSG cast mimicking "The Last Supper," and what began as a deep, dark sci-fi drama seems to be turning into an anti-Arthur C. Clarke religious tract.
To be honest, I'm weary of Baltar and his endless visions/hallucinations, as I am of the fleet's wandering as the surviving colonists try, somewhat fitfully, to find their way back to a home planet none of them remembers.
Things are coming to a head for the characters of Galactica, with Starbuck's mad quest, grumblings of rebellion among the fleet, and the shocking revelation of the final five (in one of the greatest scenes ever put to film.) I found this season to be a seamless continuation of the BSG story and an edge-of-your seat political thrill ride.

SEASON 4
So this is a strange season to review. For years I've heard many different opinions about BSG's ending from reverant praise to deep disgust and dissapointment. I feel like despite this being a full season review I have to start with the ending. I was surprised, ultimately, by how uncontroversial I found it. Don't get me wrong I can definitely understand why it was so dividing but, personally, I found it pretty servicable. It was just a solid, if kinda underwhelming, end to the story - it nicely tied up all the themes and gave an ending which felt in keeping with the numerous amounts of foreshadowing in the story.
Now, as a season overall, I found it brilliant. I did not feel there were any dud episodes and the story and acting were top-notch. There's no doubt that it looks (and admittably feels) a bit dated now but it was never enough that I had to suspend my disbelief. I do feel that this will definitely fall into my favourite shows ever list and it does deserve the praise that generally gets heaped on it. It's basically a 100% recommend to anyone who is into sci-fi or shows with heavy characterisation and a maybe for people who love mystery foremost. The mysterious element reminds of lost as it comes up with brilliant questions and then servicable but kinda unfulfilling answers.
None-the-less I will remember BSG for a long time and it is almost certainly something I will rewatch at some point.

SEASON 4
Should go down as one the greats. Philosophical, spiritual, beautiful, ugly, violent, and most of the time extremely well done. This series I believe ranks in the top 5 of The Wire, Sopranos, and Breaking Bad. The shows human elements are so well constructed and by the time I hit the 4th season my brain was already melted. There are few wayward episodes that do not move the story forward, and some of the characters presences and acting are better than others, but believe this series fracking rocks.

The fact is that although I agree with most of the criticisms here the fact is the show made money. It says more about the state of the typical viewer than the low standard of characterisation and plot development seen through the entire series. I only kept going for the Chief, Sharon, Halo and a lot of laughter about how physics is treated! The only time I've liked clowns!

I don't care what anyone says, this season never happened, and is not cannon. It is a bad dream of what is a great show called Battlestar Galactica, which only lasted for THREE SEASONS.
