  • Summary: Life among the living is tough enough, but meet Mitchell, a 120-year-old vampire, George, a highly intelligent werewolf, and Annie an agoraphobic ghost who died under mysterious circumstances, whom all live together with just the slight bit of hope that they can fit into the community and smile at the thought of being human. This show is shocking in all the right ways. It's monstrously entertaining.
  2. Personally, I've had about enough of vamps, even the moody Mitchell, but George can be a sweetie and Annie's irresistible, especially when she's making tea that she can't drink for dozens of people who never stop by. If you're already home on a Saturday night, why not spend time with a girl who probably needs to get out even more than you do?

Granted, given much thought, the show's various conceits risk crumbling the way Dracula did when he was exposed to daylight. With a little patience and forgiveness, however, Being Human remains a bloody good time.

Being Human doesn't quite achieve that show's [Buffy] giddy levels of entertainment, but it's smart enough to know that vampires, werewolves, and ghosts are more interesting when they exist in our familiar, everyday world.

This is a fun new television series from the BBC network. It is smart, but the characters interesting yet vulnerable. This show doesn't take itself too seriously but provides good entertainment with the creatures that we love most: a Vampire, a Werewolf, and a Ghost. Season 1 is good, but the end of Season 1 and transition to Season 2 shows real promise, as the show gets better over time and as the characters develop. Expand
  2. Un-watchable I would rather get a root canal than listen too these unlikable people whine at each other about things I can not bring myself to care about. The un-aired pilot was so good it made me wade through the mess that was season 1. IBut nothing is good enough to get me to slog through season 2 there just is not any reward. Collapse
