to be honest, i think most of us are tired of the poorly written, poorly executed rom-coms. Bent, is thankfully a refreshing new twist to a used up concept. The show wastes little time on introduction, yet making you understand most of the main characters. David Walton pulls of a relaxed and slack contractor to Amanda Peet's single mother/lawyer. But by far the best part of the show is Jeffrey Tambor's best role since Arrested Development. not for everyone, but a it will surely give you a good chuckle. Expand

If the characters are not particularly original, neither do they come off as artificial. The dialogue is 75% banter, but it is crisp and tart, and the actors make even the ripostes you can predict sound spontaneous.

It would be a mistake to count this scruffy little comedy out. It's really charming.

Bent is the sort of funky offbeat comedy that grows on you, so watching more than one episode at a sitting turns out to be a good thing.
