No relaxing allowed with Boss. Sorry about that, and sorry for this series, which remains smart, absorbing and particularly well done.

Boss' mix of deft footwork and bull-in-a-china shop clumsiness can be off-putting, but it's always anchored by Grammer's alternately scary and mournful lead performance, and you're never in doubt that there's a fully formed sensibility behind it.

While Boss has delusions of Shakespeare, it's not even in the same league as the TNT revival of "Dallas."

  1. What a cracking season! I don't understand why Boss did not rate through the roof.
Easily one of the best shows again in 2012. Kelsey Grammer
is riveting in ever scene supported by excellent performances throughout the whole cast.
Above all else Boss is entertaining and throughout season 2, continued to be less than predictable at every twist and turn in the plot.
Considering the rubbish that keeps getting renewed I can't believe it got cancelled.
Hopefully the movie eventuates. the story deserves an ending.

  2. The only thing this show has against it is that it's not being watched by millions, nevertheless, it's as good as it gets: superb acting, intrigue, sex, dirty politics and murder, all with an excellent production. Collapse
  3. No Emmy nominations, but a group of loyal followers! Yes, Boss is not being watched by millions of people, that is what turns it into a dramatic "treasure". Kane is the major no city would want and that's what makes it irresistable to watch: we love tiranny in some way. Keep it like that, Grammer! Expand
