The final season does not disappoint. It is strong from the beginning to the awesome final battle and conclusion. Many shows fail at this like X-Files, Lost or Game of Thrones so this should be considered a plus. We got again good character arcs, interactions, humour and great stories. For the new characters: We got Principal Wood who is more than it seems and has a background that will have impacts. Faith returns to the series from Angel who makes also a guest appearance. Then we got a lot of new potential future Slayer candidates. From them Kennedy has the biggest role and the others are more side characters. This season gave us again very good villains (The last season failed in this regard). We have the return of the First Evil. While he has a serious disadvantage he is also a dangerous schemer with lot of knowledge and insides in you. He (She / It?) knows how to push all your buttons and manipulate you in many ways. Then we have Caleb played by Mr. Firefly Nathan Fillion. He is a man with dedication and an intimidating foe. The character development is again superb. Faith and Spike have great arcs. The whole Scooby gang has to grow. Willow is in a difficult situation after the previous season. Her relationship with Kennedy helps her and is also a plus for this season. Then we have Anja who struggles with her past and has to make difficult decisions. I must tell you about my favourite episodes before my final conclusion because they are the reason that this season is awesome: Selfless deals with Anjas struggle and her relationship with Buffy and Xander. It is impactful. Conversations with the dead is were Buffy fights a vampire who was on school with her as human. He had a mayor in psychology and the fight turns out as therapy and has some revelations. Lies my parents told me is the conclusion of Spike and Principal Woods connection and changes also the relationship between Buffy and Giles. Showtime is about the essence of being a slayer. Get it done shows a glimpse of the future and Spike getting his badassness back. The final episodes Touched, End of Days and Chosen deliver the awesome climax. It is a highlight and a nearly perfect end for the show. Overall this and season 5 are the best in the show and a must watch. Bonus knowledge: The stories for Buffy, Angel and the others continue in comic form. They are at season 12 at the time of writing.
My favourite season by far. Strong ending from the writers, actors and special effects peeps. Everything that happened needed to, and everything ended with a bang. Will look back fondly on this season for some time.
A really great series and an absolutely fantastic end to the TV show. That season finale was just epic!Good performances from everyone but especially from Sarah Michelle Gellar. Here, she shows just how much she has matured and delivers the PERFECT portrayal of the character Buffy Summers. Thank you Sarah (just in case you ever read this yourself. I doubt it, but you never know.) Overall: Season seven is just glorious in every regard and can not fault it. I really wish it had gone on, but everything needs to come to an end.

I've heard a lot of criticism of Buffy's seventh and final season over the years but, while I'd agree that it's not as sharp as it was at it's best, there is still a lot to enjoy here if you've been a fan of the show up to this point. Episodes such as "Conversations With Dead People" demonstrate the unique nature of this show and the finale, while not completely without its issues, made for a fitting conclusion.
The final season of the show certainly turns up the heat, it is epic and the two part finale ''End of Days'' and ''Chosen'' certainly ends the show on a high. It goes back to its roots and also has a clear arc from the start involving an entity called The First, a villain that first appeared in the third season and can take the form of any dead person. It did have a couple of problems with it, the teenage Potential Slayers that it introduces are a little annoying and offputting for a show that thrives so much because of its characters and I did feel that the season focused so much on Spike so much that some of the original characters were neglected a little bit but as with basically every season the show ever had, it is still strong and a worthy final chapter.
