What is mostCalifornication is still following the cliche of boy and girl loving each other, but not being together due to "events". What is most interesting is that the writers are clearly trying to lead the two together, despite the fact that the best solution to the plot is if they move on. But to resist this solution, they've turned the girl into the vilain.
This is not the first season where this happens, but now the characters admit it. Hank gets involved with women that are more fitting, willing, attractive and exciting than Karen. But Karen is keeping him just close enough to stop him from moving on. Yet, when he calls his relationships off and tries to get with her, it's not good enough.
This is no different than previous seasons, only the writers don't realise that, by now, we are rooting for Karen to go away and for Hank to focus on one of his better relationships. I really only watched this season to see if the writers would finally see through the cliche and allow Hank (and Karen for that matter) to move on and have the happy ending they really deserve.… Expand
