It affects a frisky aura of gamesmanship with its tight-knit friends (played by Lucy Liu, Frances O'Connor, Miranda Otto and Bonnie Somerville) as they send their distress-text signals to each other, meet up, hash out their obstacles--cheaters, competitors, cads and the clock--and plan their counterattacks.

Strictly viewed on its merits, though, Cashmere Mafia suffers from a too-familiar feel.

As confected by ABC, the gayest and girliest of the big networks, Cashmere Mafia is the brighter of two ["Lipstick Jungle" is the other], with an "Ugly Betty" flair for color and a "Desperate Housewives" air of camp.

This show is fun, exciting, and sexy. The women are high class business profesionals who beat out their husbands and other men to be the best and look the best. The show was the talk in class at school, proving it does apeal to a younger group of women. I hope this show returns! Expand

OK so its no Sex and the City. While even SATC was somewhat cliche, there was of course Carrie's character. This show doesn't really have a Carrie which I am fine with, but it in my opinion makes the show a little more awkward. However, I deeply deeply miss SATC so this was my replacement. Where the heck did it go?!!?!?!? Bring it back, honestly it wasn't that bad. Oh and some of the trash people watch like Wife Swap or Super Nanny or (gasp) American stinking idol! Come on I want to watch a show with characters in it who have camaraderie, wit, and a keen fashion sense. Bring it back, even if it isn't the next great smart power series it is 10x better than any of the afore mentioned programs that are on year after year. Expand

Good-looking women playing four loser-women who quite adequately demonstrate all the widely bought fallacies of the feminist movement of the last fifty years. The lesbian one actually seems so far to have the best grip on life, even though she's getting involved with some semi-bizarre people. However, the other three women are just pretty clueless about what being a woman is all about. Talk about advanced cases of closeted penis-envy!! It is no mystery why they are having trouble with men; no self-respecting man would use those characters for anything other than a romp in the sack! One just wonders if the writers are consciously or unconsciously writing such loser characters. If they were real life, one would REALLY feel bad for their kids. Expand
