This anime was premiere at 2007, and now it's at the end of 2014, and I can still say that this is THE BEST ANIME OF IT'S GENRE.
It got top grade school life story. a good comedy that can crack you up, nice harem atmosphere, tear-jerking moments, and the best of it all is it's smooth plot from the start till the end of the anime.
If you are a fan of some comedy-romance-highschool life story, this is the best for you.
Clannad will shake you like no show has ever done before. A masterpiece of storytelling deserving of the praise it has received. Even if you are not a fan of the anime medium, I strongly recommend watching Clannad and Clannad: After Story.
You might think that you will not cry, but trust me, no matter who you are, YOU WILL CRY :'). This anime may look girly at first, but actually, I would argue that it teaches you how to be a man. It really shows you how much you need to appreciate family, and how not having a solid relationship with your family, or actually all the people you love and care about, will impact your future. If you struggle with relationship problems with other people, or if you just want to get a touchy story, I would highly, HIGHLY recommend this anime. It's not vague with characters and their personalities, and its pacing is quite excellent! You may not think it at first, but you will fall in love with the characters once you watch the episodes. Each character has a very touchy and relatable story, and they all tie into the concept of family. Don't worry, not all of it is emotional. There are plenty of times where you will laugh your head off, and a lot of kicking and a few censorships of blood will be shown. There will be 2 comical reliefs, or funny dudes, that you will love. Overall, very emotional and life-lessony anime, and I would recommend it to anyone.
Wow. In one word. Perfection. Clannad is the best Anime I have ever seen and it fully deserves to be, with a fantastic story, lovable characters, brilliant soundtrack and immaculate pacing it is one of the best things I have ever witnessed whether that be in terms of video games, movies, TV and so on. To start, the story is perfect, and the pace it flows at is brilliant and allows it to never feel slow or like its moving too fast. The episodes all have purpose, and by the end it has focused on all the cast and given them all at least one episode to be fleshed out and given motives and such, which allows you to love them even more. Also, since they are all so well fleshed out, any of the characters could be the protagonist's main "Choice" and this is even built upon with the "Other World" episodes at the ends of the seasons, which were in themselves an episode length of what would have happened if they had been the choice, which was fantastic since it fulfills the "What if" ideas you get when thinking about the characters. The soundtrack is fantastic, all of the music helps set the mood and the tone of the scene and often in the sadder scenes helps the tears flow from your face. I even feel sad when hearing the opening to season two nearly a month after watching it due to this. I cannot recommend this Anime enough, and it fully deserves to be observed by a larger audience world-wide. It has its ups, downs, and truly touching moments which will turn anyone into a quivering wreck after it is done. The ending did feel rushed somewhat, but that is by no means a reason not to watch this fantastic series, and I hope for a possible one off episode sometime in the future. (Also, do not miss any episodes like I did, I was unaware of the best "Other World" episodes and found it only a few weeks ago after I had moved onto another Anime.)
A solid season entering the depths of the Clannad universe, coming to terms with oneself and learning the problems that other people may have. Very emotional piece of work, and comes off with comedy and romance at the same time. 9/10
Clannad is one of the best romance anime out there. The storyline involves between high school students who are going through a phase near the end of their highschool life and right before they head out to the real world looking for whatever they can to achieve their goals. The storyline although involves the main character amongst many female characters, the anime at first seems like a harem anime simply because the anime is based on a dating simulation game. However in the end the canonical story takes place after several interactions with the large cast of characters.
To be honest I should have stopped watching after the 3rd episode, because to me I only need one word to describe this series... filler. Literally that's 95% of it and to be honest the pay off isn't even worth it. Because it comes straight out of nowhere, destroys the continuity, annihilates any chance of the show being about real world problems, and has even MORE FILLER. You'ld think that the supposed last episode would be only plot relevant stuff, but no 70% of it's filler. But what is the filler, well it's mostly a certain character who gets harassed the entire series, but he (according to the show) deserves to have is entire life be constant torture because he's perverted (this show was made off of a dating game by the way), having completely pointless conversations, and a bunch of subplots which are systimatically destroyed by the shows horrible morals. Those morals being, you should only judge people for what they did in the past, some people are pieces of crap and can be treated as such, and you can be as horrible as you want to your significant other and they'll come back to you anyway. Also it's perverted and is a complete antithesis for woman's rights... no surprise there. In the end this show is irredeemable, cause to be honest it amounts to a but hole getting a bunch of girlfriends and good stuff, without having to do anything for it and when anything bad ever happens he acts like a bigger but hole then usual and releases it on a bunch of unsuspecting people, who did the crime of trying to be nice. And it's not funny, it's not realistic, it's not well written, it's just trash.
