In this world, humans coexist with creatures called Yoma. The Yoma are sentient, shape-changing monsters that disguise themselves as and then feed on humans. By consuming a human brain, the Yoma can absorb the victim's memories, allowing them to infiltrate human circles without arousing the suspicions of their victim's close friends or family. In order to protect humans from the Yoma, a secret organization has created an order of superhuman warriors known as Claymores. Thusly named for the immense claymores they wield. Villages being attacked by Yoma hire Claymores to kill the Yoma for a large fee.

Until the last couple of episodes I had no doubt in my mind that it would finish off as strong and clean as it had run with perfect story-telling and a strong swipe at my heart. However, the series merits a 9/10 only because the ending appeared to be a scrambled attempt by the makers to end the series on the spot, because it was confusing to no end and had only enough closure to keep me from bursting out in rage. Poor finish, a perfect 10/10 would've been in order otherwise. Expand
