It's precisely the lack of traditional stage-managed drama that makes early episodes of the show so fascinating.
Cold Justice is about simple people in forgotten places, a far cry from the rich New York socialites and corporate villains of an entertainment like "Law & Order." Yet with real pain comes the promise of real closure.

I am incredibly in awe of these two ladies. They break down the cases and take every nuance and tiny detail to build such an amazing circumstantial case. They have really closed so many cases since their first case. Their dedication to the Law Enforcement world with their specific knowledge - prosecutorial and forensic, helps guide the detectives into getting such amazing results and closure for the families.
They are a great addition into the real life drama/reality TV, because in their field, they help so many families get justice for their loved ones!

SEASON 1
While some of those made-for-TV encounters feel a little stilted, they do tend to pull you along, wanting to see how the drama plays out.
Cold Justice picks up considerably in its second episode and seems as if it might be a worthy addition to the genre.
There isn’t a lot of drama.
A fantastic behind-the-scenes look at the blood, sweat and tears involved in investigating a cold-case file, sometimes decades after the fact. Some may be put off by the frequent lack of closure, but not every investigation can lead to an arrest and conviction. This is the sad reality of cold-cases.
If you enjoyed the 90s Cold Case TV Show and want something a little more gritty and realistic, you will love this show.

SEASON 1
"Cold Justice" may bring some justice to cold cases, but the show itself makes a few fatal flaws. For example, one of the main problems is that it is extremely repetitive. Much of the same facts, and photos, are stated or seen over and over again as if they are somehow new ground-breaking revelations. As a viewer it kind of insults your intelligence. Also, some of the scenes are staged so horrendously that it is embarrassing. If these problems were fixed then the show has potential to succeed, but it appears that may be too late.

Kelly and Yolanda seem to be sincere in their quest for justice. My frustration is there is no closure. It would be nice to know the extent of that justice.... Conviction? Penalty? You follow their sleuthing, only to be left hanging about the final legal outcome. Most episodes end having identified the culprit, some not.....remaining a mystery (why even air these failures), the most successful ending seems to be that the case has been accepted to go to a Grand **** end.....what is the final justice? Would be nice to have a final text as to the final outcome. Don't know if I can continue to watch only to left wondering, "now what?"

The felt that the premise of this show had great promise until I saw the show and realized just how lazy it is. An ex-prosecutor and an ex-CSI type band together to solve cold cases. This could work if that was really happening. In one of the two shows I watched before quitting we had a murder case with known suspects but no prosecutable evidence. The two cold case experts brought in their ex-homicide detective who is supposed to be a fantastic suspect interrogator. He seems to say to the suspects, "Come on, you did, didn't you?" and they confess. Just about that complicated. The show is really insulting to viewers and pretty much to the police too.
