  • Summary: The Eurovision Song Contest is a competition held each year between active member countries of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). Participating countries each submit a song to be performed on live television. Each member casts votes for their favourite songs (excluding their own), in order to find the most popular song in the competition. Each country participates via one of their national EBU-member television stations. Each country's EBU station selects a singer and a song to represent the country in the competition.     As a fan of this contest i can say that it is my favourite TV show ever - only one other TV show can compete with it (It is not on TV now in my coundtry).Since the 2009 year the points given from one country to another are not so politically motivated as in previous years - it is very good.The voting is my favourite part in the contest - it is always so exciting and thrilling!The only minus here - the songs are usually typical pop and ballads and the rock and metal music are not very often here.… Expand
