The most original and brilliant show on television.
It's got edge galore, but it's the kind that sneaks up on you and proves again that Gervais has the subtlest kind of brilliance, hard to categorize but easy to enjoy.

The best thing Ricky Gervais has ever done. Each episode centers around a guest star who behaves exactly the opposite of his/ her public image. Gervais' character changes through the series - - becoming more shallow and jaded until he has his epiphany. A very good set up of moronic sit-coms as well which are actually worse in the UK than in the US. The "Dukes of Hazard" was fine art compared to "When the Whistle Blows".

Probably not most peoples favorite work of Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, but i love it and think it's better than The Office. Especially Stephen Merchants portrayal as the agent is hilarious. Changing celebrities in each episode seems like a desperate attempt to get views but even without the celebrities it would be an outstanding series.

'Extras" is far less terminally existential than ''The Office," less depressing to watch.
Mr. Gervais has in no way lost his touch.
Very British, coasting on quiet pauses, subtle digs and ironic discomfort -- a bonus for some, a strong negative for many.
Not that the show will be everyone's English cup of tea, but there are enough "A" list Hollywood stars (making fun of themselves) each week to bring in even the most easily offended, but curious, viewers.
Tedious.
While Extras may be less purely innovative than The Office, it is just as smart, moving and funny. Extras is a show I could watch forever, it reaches heights of thoughtfulness and insight rarely met by mainstream television (or film for that matter) and breathes new life into classic sit com scenarios, while mercilessly mocking kitsch. Gervais and Merchant are master, not just of comedy, but of story telling and character development.

In my opinion, this is Gervais' best work. It's funny & heartwarming. If you loved The Office, you'll definitely love this. The celebrities that guest-star in this programme make each episode a treat to watch. 10/10!

Another one of Ricky Gervais' genius creations, Extra's is absolutely awesome!! Comparisons to The Office are pointless, its different and deserves to be treated so because its another work of art by the legend that is Ricky Gervais. Superbly well written from start to finish and the guest stars throughout play their parts to perfection. All round it is simply sensational, reaffirming Ricky Gervais' place as one of the greatest comic writers off all time.

This is one of my absolute favorite series of all time. The great chemistry with the cast and the fact I can watch each episode multiple times makes it special. I can't honestly choose my favorite episode since the are all soooooo good. I just wish there were more seasons to enjoy :(
