Fear the Walking Dead pulls off a great feat in prequel land: using that nagging sense of inevitability to its advantage. It shouldn’t work, but it totally does.
They also don’t know what’s happening back East, so we don’t start with any crossovers or even cross-references. There’s just the uneasy sense that something is wrong, which for TV drama purposes means something is right.
The series had a bit of a slow start and it was hard to find characters to root for but season 4 has just started and we're more committed now than ever to these characters and their stories!
Some viewers will be eager to get to more zombies, but the quicker the show does this, the less unique it will be. Episode two moves the plot forward faster--more characters begin to understand what “the infected” are capable of--which will appeal to those craving zombies, but is sure to disappoint anyone wanting this show to shamble its own way.
Production values are strong and the entire cast is effective, although they’re not given quite enough to do in episode one. The second episode (only two were available for press) is notably better as Dickens and Curtis get in on the panic and are allowed more challenging beats as actors. I think some people will be put off by the pace of Fear.
Fear the Walking Dead is far less satisfying from a creative standpoint than Vince Gilligan's prequel offering. It's neither as original or relevant, and it certainly failed to break free of any formal restrictions. Perhaps most importantly, though, the new series lacks a beating heart.
Unfortunately, despite strong performances, particularly from Dickens and Curtis, it's hard to care what happens to anyone, or to listen to the dialogue and not pray for some kind of bear attack.
My review going be about TV show Fear Of The Walking dead the first season started on august 16th 2016 first episode season 1 this how it began There's a sign of the apocalypse in Los Angeles, where reports of a strange flu and the disappearance of people underscore this gritty drama, a prequel to AMC's uber-popular "Walking Dead." The story of the mysterious outbreak and its ramifications are told through the lens of high school guidance counsellor Madison Clark and English teacher Travis Manawa. Widowed mother Madison is raising two children single-handedly but has recently found love with Travis, who maintains a relationship with his ex-wife and resentful son while trying to become a father to Madison's children. The challenge of blending their families is exacerbated by unforeseen chaos, and a necessary survival of the fittest takes hold. The Clarks and Manawa’s must reinvent themselves, or embrace their darker histories. `
The second season received mostly mixed reviews from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, the season has a rating of 71%, based on 26 reviews, whose average rating is 6.6/10. The site's critical consensus reads, "Fear the Walking Dead sets sail in its sophomore season with an intriguing backdrop that doesn't always disguise its deficiencies in comparison to its predecessor On Meteoritic, the season has a score of 54 out of 100, based on 12 critics, indicating "mixed or average reviews
December 2014, the first four starring roles were cast: Kim **** as Madison, the female lead; Cliff Curtis as Travis Manawa, the male lead; Frank Dillan as Nick; and Alycia Denham-Carey as Alicia. In April and May, 2015, Elizabeth Rodriguez and Mercedes Mason were announced as series regulars, both in unknown roles.
At first I was pretty excited to tackle this show. After a few years of hesitation I finally started to watch it.
First 5 seasons were great. Truly enjoyed it and was always in the "just one more" mode.
Season 6 comes along, ok, things take some different turns but still manages to captivate and capture my attention.
Then Season 7. Seriously, this killed it for me.
I could barely muster 2 episodes a night (sometimes, skipping entirely or just watching 1 episode). The acting, the writing, even the darn Dead are well... bad and at times so painful to watch you feel embarrassed/ashamed/uninterested yourself.
After watching the final episode of the season, I decided this is where I am going to call it quits. For a show that started off with great potential, this is a huge let down.
I can only imagine how truly bad Season 8 will be though I have no plans to experience it.
As a fan of the original show... this particular season was more of a let down for me. The entire time I was waiting to be engaged... or connected with some or one of the characters however I felt as if I didn't really care who died or who lived and the ending didn't feel satisfying in any way to me. The character development was abysmal and the acting was pretty poor by some of the actors taking the immersion factor away completely. The walkers themselves even seemed a little off, perhaps being so early in the infection time it is too early to judge. However it is interesting as a fan of the original series to see what was happening when Rick went into a coma, before the outbreak and seeing the chaos and turmoil the characters had to face. If you're a fan of the walking dead I'd say try it, see if you like it, if not, then don't bother with the rest of the season. I wouldn't recommend this however if you are not a fan and would say watch the walking dead for a much better overall experience in this universe.
The fact that critics have all voted fear the walking dead positively is extremity worrying. How can you believe a word any critic says from this moment forward when they are blatantly being paid off in some way to review this show in a positive light. SHAMEFUL.
Anyway, as for the show, It has its moments, and i am still sticking with it through gritted teeth! I'm a **** for punishment. The show is a drama about humans struggling, It has very little to do with the walkers. The acting is terrible, especially Kim **** and her family in the show. Kim takes the award for actress who cant act award for 2017. It is levels of bad that i can't put into words.
If it wasn't for the feminist obsession here in 2017 they would have killed her off along time ago. In fact, i believe that doing so would draw people back into the world more as it is unbelievable how a woman who only has one emotion can influence so many people and act like a bad ass when in real life she wouldn't have lasted a second with how she acts in fear the walking dead.
I have seen a drop in qaulty of the walking dead since fear started awhile back. I dont know if this is just a coincadence but the shows feel stale and repetative. They are so scared to offend people that certain events happen on the show that in a real life situation would go down a whole different way!
I persoanlly think the makers should be disgusted with how low qauloty their shows have become!
If you want to save it, start with Kim asap.
