  • Summary: Based on the popular book series of the same name, this drama gives viewers a peek into the world of privileged teenagers on an elite private school in New York City. The story is written by The O.C.'s Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, and directed by Mark Piznarski who has worked on series like Everwood and Veronica Mars.Surface's Leighton Meester and Accepted's Blake Lively have taken the lead roles in this drama series. They will play Blair and Serena respectively, rich Manhattan rivals at a private school in New York. The last additions to this new CW drama are Misconceptions' Taylor Momsen, The Covenant's Chace Crawford and The Bedford Diaries' Penn Badgley. Their characters are Momsen as Jenny a 14 year-old and shy girl, Nate the good looking boyfriend of Blair, and Dan the secret admirer of Serena. E-Ring's Kelly Rutherford and The Jury's has been cast as the mother of lead role Serena. Rutherford will play the mother of Serena van der Woodsen (Lively's character), a former ballerina and rock groupie. Afterlife's Ed Westwick has been cast as Chuck Bass and Brothers and Sisters' Matthew Settle has been cast as Jenny and Dan's father, Rufus Humphrey.… Expand

    Maybe this episode really is about repression, erotica and split personalities. Or maybe it's just a good excuse for the show to shake the dust out, ditch the inferno of summertime New York and wander amid the glories of Paris while exploring the discreet bourgeois charms of Blair and Serena. Either way, it's a lot of fun.

    s a pleasure to report that Gossip Girl launches its fourth season with two confidently satisfying episodes. Because the episodes are designed almost as a stand-alone chapter, I can't say for sure if this bodes well for the season to come, but hey... Good Gossip Girl.

    Gossip Girl will get some slack on repeating itself, because teenagers have an incredibly high tolerance for remixing, reworking and rehashing the drama in their own lives. But the show still has to feel fresh, which is why Monday's episode adds at least two new characters who promise to have significant impact on people we already know.

    Ahh... Season Four. I love the first half the whole Juliet, Vanessa & Jenny Storyline but apart from that a certain friendship between Blair and Dan. I feel like their could've been more… Expand

    Too many characters pass through this season with old characters drifting in & out sporadically. We have very few solid cast members with a decent amount of air time. They do poke a bit of fun at their own story lines by pointing out how ridiculous events have been - this a little reminiscent of One Tree Hill. Sometimes the characters are a little too mature like when Dan doesn't seem to mind much when Serena moves her new beau into his house and dates this guy right in front of him. I think the majority of guys would call her selfish bi##ch for that kind of behaviour! Bass Industries appears to be open for theft, yet again. The writers may need to come up a with a new story-line! Overall, its good but not gripping. If it ends here I think few would badly miss it (though some would). If it does continue, I believe they need to do quite an overhaul to avoid repeating storylines.… Expand
