There can be only one does not apply here.

There are too few episodes per season although more than the pittance that socialist states offer (sherlock: 3/season)

The basic idea of the show is wonderful and the actors are realistic in their roles which sales the fantasy story line. If you enjoy fantasy books and shows this is a nice break in a TV market flooded with police and crime shows. Full Review »

The premise was interesting, but sounds odd on paper and it seemed like the first season spent too much time on the hum-drum daily aspects of the show and did not build longer, deeper story elements.

The second season changed that, adding subplots and filling out the series into a fleshed out, well written, and very entertaining drama. Season three only built on it, giving us new challenges while wrapping up the old.

Is it perfect? No. There are times when the characters seem to take offense too easily, after all they have been through with each other, and some of the subplots have just kind of evaporated.

All in all, though the premise is rather odd, it is well worth checking out. Just be sure to watch the summaries of the first three seasons before the fourth airs!
