Happy Endings quickly gets its game in gear and emerges as ABC's best new sitcom since Better Off Ted unfortunately failed to find an audience.
Happy Endings, which sounds like the special at a cheap massage parlor, is so funny I heard a noise I haven't heard in a very long time while watching a sitcom: the sound of me yelping so loudly it could frighten dogs.

I think this is the best TV in history - incredibly smart and funny with an incredibly talented cast. Impossible to get everything just watching an episode once - it's a phenomenal show.

It is nothing new, but it is well assembled and expertly played.
Happy Endings isn't unpleasant, certainly, but might face the same dilemma as its characters: An inability to make--or at least keep--enough new friends.
Happy Endings is both a retro version of "Friends" and a more superficially progressive one.
The characters on ABC's new sitcom Happy Endings seem likable and funny. So why, the viewer may ask, does the show give them such a forced and convoluted back-story that it keeps getting in the way of both those qualities?
It's all too frantic, too full of obnoxious people contorting themselves into stupid lies in the service of jokes that never quite land.
Great well written under rated show with interesting characters. Kind of How I Met Your Mother meets Spaced mets Scrubs. Lots of film references. Not for those who like more serialized shows, though does help to see the first to understand how characters relate to each other.

This show is too fast, offbeat, and eccentric/quirky for most people to get and unless it slows down a little this show will never catch on but, it does have one fantastic aspect that doesn't need any tuning because this aspect has found its nitch & this aspect is the character Adam which makes up plenty for this show's flawed nature.

Happy Endings is your typical attempt at a Friends remake with an addition **** character and a Black character. It's set in Chicago, though we're not exposed to the character of the city whatsoever. The humor is light, topical, and littered w/ pop culture references as expected. Definitely not POC-friendly with it's white liberal "don't see color" attitude and use of the term "****". Would really benefit from a more diverse group of scriptwriters. Overall, it was pretty watchable, if not a little too into itself (not unlike its characters).

I had high hopes for this show with the promotion and the success of Modern Family. I was badly disappointed. The characters were uninteresting but trying very hard and with no success to be funny. The show had no central sense of "place" and the relationships of the characters hard to figure out. None of the characters were likable. The pilot was muddled with far too many subplots going on all at once. I was at the same time confused and did not care to try to figure it out.
