The show's unusual conceit is that Herman's feelings are frequently illustrated by scenes that take place inside his brain, where four characters (representing his intellect, lust, sensitivity, and fear) interact. Hank Azaria and Yeardley Smith (both of The Simpsons) are among the co-stars in Herman's real world environment. Expand

What comes out of Herman's head is the most imaginative, innovative comedy on TV since "Dream On". [5 Sep 1991]

Ragsdale has vigor, and the office scenes, featuring Jason Bernard, Yeardley Smith, Jane Sibbett and Hank Azaria, work moderately well without the intrusion of the barbershop quartet in his cerebellum. That gimmick, however, makes the show unbearably contrived.

The show is a claustrophobic disaster. ... What a bad idea for a show.

TheyHerman's Head was one of the funniest two or three sitcoms I've ever watched. The least funny part was the characters in Herman's head. They were like Jerry Seinfeld on Seinfeld - the OTHERS were the reasons to watch this hilarious show. From his friend Jay to Heady to Mr. Bracken's one liners to the insane president of the company. YES, I remember the character names after over 20 years. It was THAT funny. The critics who planned this show were idiots. I don't care who they were or what their reputations were - if they didn't like this, their bosses should have fired them on the spot. Expand
