  • Summary: Set in the fictional town of River Run, Ohio just after the end of World War II, this acclaimed ensemble drama depicted life in 1940s America.     Much of the time, Homefront relies on cornball dialogue we've heard in too many old war movies, and a number of the show's dramatic conflicts are drearily predictable. ... But the acting is uniformly solid, with the women especially strong.
