So this show is more than a tribute, though it is that.
  2. It's a novel idea: Remove the middleman and let artists interview themselves. [25 Nov 2005, p.96]

Celebrities interviewing celebrities is a promising concept, in that it upsets the power balance of the typical suck-up interview. But the downside is that once people get past a certain level of fame, they seem to lose the internal monitor that reminds them that not everything they do and say is worth recording.

Thoughtful and evocative look into the seemingly disparate lives of compelling figures who end up having much in common and much to convey.

I hate this show. Its based on the egalitarian theory that two creative people can somehow be instantly bonded by their work. It almost wants to pander to the politically correct idea of everyone getting along and relating. What I can say is that it is a horrible show. It trys to mesh to different people and two different talents into one feeling that doesn't really exist. How can one understand the subtle nuances of each others talent without direct experience in it. It trys to link the two but reallly just results in a display of bragging between two different people. I am offended that this concept which is presented could be so far its mark. Its a waste of time trying to find any hidden truth in these episodes. Just prepare for more mindless wasting away of the mind commonly found on ABC, CBS, and ABC. Expand
