  • Starring: Bill Cobbs, Sam Waterston, Mary Alice
  • Summary: Set in a fictional small town in the segregated South in the late 1950s, this award-winning drama centers on a white lawyer who has three children and an African-American housekeeper. This third season actually consists of a single two-hour episode which debuted on PBS in 1993 (after NBC had canceled the low-rated show), designed to serve as a series finale and tie up all storylines.
