  1. The show itself, however, does much of its best work in the shadows, where nothing is that clear.

The dialogue's still pulpy, but its action story is the bomb.

In Season 2, the show, brought back by fans who vociferously protested its cancellation, has become more topical and even more intriguing.

I predict those struggles for allegiance to be reflected in the microcosm of smalltown Jericho. Instead of “North and South,” we may be about to get “East and West.”
  5. The story's too good to be undermined by a little woodenness.

Like "Alias" or "The X-Files," Jericho has enough wheel-within-wheels, double agents, and ad hoc alliances to draw in viewers who love a long-playing puzzle.
  7. On paper, the idea of building a new democracy from the ruins of war while government contractors run amok--in other words, showing what would happen if the reconstruction of Iraq took place in our heartland--is just as strong as the original premise of Jericho. But the execution remains mediocre.

Great show, great writing, great characters..too bad CBS was so shortsighted in cancelling it, but you can't just blame them, rather blame the generally brain dead American populace who would rather watch "So you think your monkey can dance with the stars" than anything intelligent. Expand

Wow. This season is even better in some ways. TIGHT and great action. It's not really an improbable plot. It's a "what if" of the highest order that allows the writers to explore very pertinent questions. Expand

Just finished watching this series and this is easily the best show CBS has had in the past couple years. Can't believe they would cancel it. Probably to add 2 more crappy sitcoms. Hopefully another network can pick this up. Expand

Oh, dawg, watching this made me realize why I didn't like it. Clank, clank clank. The plot cranks on, with the automatons who impersonate actors on it blustering. Make it stop! please! Collapse
