Description: Jon and Kate Plus 8planned on revamping to Kate Plus 8 after Jon's scandalous behavior prompted the network to drop his name from the title. The focus was intended to shift to Kate Gosselin as a single mother, but the series was canceled altogether before the changes even went into effect. This happened after Jon petitioned to have his children removed from the filming process because he felt it was an "unhealthy" environment for them. This was, of course, five years after the Gosselins burst onto the scene as one of the few American couples to have eight children over the span of two pregnancies. As the world now knows, the show was created in the first place because Jon and Kate Gosselin were a typical married couple that only planned on having about three kids, but fate had a much bigger plan for them. After giving birth to twin girls named Madelyn and Cara in 2000, a set of sextuplets arrived in 2004 - Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel. This was originally a 2 hour special on Discovery Health Channel, but TLC offered Jon and Kate a deal for a weekly reality series, and just when they had finally gotten all eight children in school at the same time, the show ended for good, after nearly five full seasons. Even in the wake of a messy and very public divorce in late 2009, the Gosselins continued to remain in the limelight as the cameras have documented the joys, trials, and tribulations that come with their fame - and even though the family will no longer be filmed together, it is likely that they will remain in the public consciousness for years to come.
