  • Summary: King of the Hill is another animation hit from Beavis and Butthead creator Mike Judge, who also voices the starring character Hank Hill, a propane gas salesman in the fictional town Arlen, Texas. Hank is often besieged by the idiosyncrasies of society, but he finds (some) serenity in his home-life with his wife, substitute Spanish teacher Peggy, his awkward son Bobby and his live-in niece-in-law Luanne Platter. Adding flavor to the ordinary dish the series serves are Hank's friends, divorcee military barber Bill Dauterive, paranoid Dale Gribble (with an obsession with Government conspiracy theories) and gibberish spouting Boomhauer. On April 4th 2008, FOX renewed the series for a 13th season.
FOX has aired 253 of the 255 total episodes after the 13th season wrapped on May 17, leaving two episodes still yet to air. It's understood however that producer 20th Century Fox Television kept the show in production for four additional episodes (DABE14-DABE17) bringing its actual total to 259. The network nevertheless has yet to license those extra episodes, meaning as few as two or as many as six could still air. King of the Hill in Canada; Sundays @ 7 PM E/P on Global.
Repeats can be seen on FX.King of the Hill in the USA: Sundays @ 8:30 on FOX.

For a cartoon, it's defiantly slow, sometimes a virtual still-life. And yet there's something curiously compelling about its utterly trivial everyday goings-on. [11 Jan 1997]

Maybe "King of the Hill" is trying a tricky balancing act, hoping to please people who look down on the Hills and people who can identify their neighbors on the show. Whatever the series hopes to do, it better move fast. So far it suffers severely from a lack of funny lines. [11 Jan 1997]

King of the Hill may not peak until the second or third season, but this is a great first season. It takes a couple of episodes for the characters to develop, but once they do, its pretty hard to stop watching. Expand

One of the most funny and entertaining TV shows ever! Adding the Everyday life of a middle-American family. Having a character that everyone can relate to. Bill, the depressed Army Barber. Dale, the paranoid freak. Boomhauer, the womanizer. And Hank, the everyday middle American. But those are just the main characters! There's someone for everyone to like and enjoy in this show. I was really sad to hear they aren't gonna make any more. Hell, even my Screen-name is "spoofing" the show! Expand

Shows I Look For Great Voice Acting, And Great Plots.. King Of The Hill Has Both! The Characters Are Fine As Well.. There Is One Little Problem.. I Wish Luanne, & Cotten Would Be In The Show More, I Love Them!
Overall This Is A Great 1st Season!

There really is not much good to say about this show. The animation is terrible, the script is worse, and the characters unlikable. the only good thing about it, is that the characters are so poorly written that even when the show is trying to be touching, I can laugh at the characters Expand
