It's one of HBO's more fascinating series -- but not because it's good, or funny.

Like "Roseanne," it can mine poverty for working-class laughs. It isn't executing that well, yet.

There's certainly comedy to be found in these basic situations, but not in "Lucky Louie's" confounding approach or stilted presentation.

    It's like a David Mamet parody of Roseanne. [19 Jun 2006, p.37]
  5. It doesn't work, largely because there's not enough wit from creator and star Louis C.K. to make the vulgarity anything more than an exercise in blue.
  6. This is comedian Louis C.K.'s attempt to lampoon the classic half-hour sitcom, if by lampoon you mean drown it in toxic failure.

A show so vile, it makes you think the company's arrogant It's Not TV -- It's HBO slogan isn't a brag -- it's a threat.

I'm 76 years old (wife 66). We can't remember laughing as hard since the 3 stooges and Abbot and Costello. Was hoping to find out I'm 76 years old (wife 66). We can't remember laughing as hard since the 3 stooges and Abbot and Costello. Was hoping to find out that it is going to be renewed only to be disappointed. Next they'll get rid of Maher and Entourage and we can get rid of the HBO extra subscription cost. Full Review »

If you follow the series you will see that it show the qorkyness that is human flaws in life.. sort of like a Curb Y en. Its just doesn't seem to hold anything back. I laugh because it doesn't feel real, and it feels like you are watching a play or something. Full Review »
