Nikita is probably The CW’s most purely entertaining show at the moment, and it brazenly promises to be its best self now that it’s coming into the home stretch, wrapping up its loose ends with what amounts to a concluding, six-episode miniseries.

I cannot digest the fact that this series is coming to an end. This has been the best thing that The CW has ever made. Obviously underrated,I cannot digest the fact that this series is coming to an end. This has been the best thing that The CW has ever made. Obviously underrated, if only people paid attention much, the series could have been extended more. Season 4 starts with a very polished pilot episode. The same Nikita feel, character lines and incredible action scenes. Nikita is a wicked series. Too bad there are only 5 more episodes left. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Without a doubt, season 4 was the best season of Nikita since the first season. Granted, it was only six episodes but those six episodes felt more like pieces of a mini-series rather than the iterative episodes that plague most shows. The action and acting is stellar once again and the finale is fantastic. Easily one of the best series finales I've ever seen. All of the characters' conclusions leave you satisfied. Don't get me wrong, the season was far from flawless. I am not sure of the details behind the cancellation but the last couple of episodes felt incredibly rushed. I wouldn't be surprised if we got the ending they planned all along but they probably expected another dozen or so episodes to wrap it up right instead of the last couple of rushed episodes. Why do I think it felt rushed? There were two main things. First first was how Nikita so easily took down the shop. I'm sorry but it happened too quickly and with not enough obstacles, especially for an organization whose immense power was established in earlier seasons. The second thing was Sam/Owen's character change. I didn't think they developed his transition well at all. If they would've had more episodes, they could've made it make more sense by being more gradual rather than the seeming flipping of a switch. Nonetheless, the show and ending were great. I highly recommend it. Expand
