  • Summary: Ryan Buell is just an ordinary college kid. He attends classes at Penn State University, deals with schedules, school work, parties, girls, and so forth. However, he is also a member of one of the first university sanctioned paranormal research groups in the country, The Paranormal Research Society (PRS). Each week, outside parties ranging from The Catholic Church to ordinary families, contact the PRS to request help in dealing with a terrifying real life mystery often involving poltergeists, hauntings and the darkest areas of the unknown.

    I loved Paranormal State when I started watching. They have a great crew and take what they do very seriously. They help out families that believe they are plagued by the paranormal. This season was great.… Collapse

    "Something just touched the back of my neck." "Woah, did you hear that?" "I swear I just saw something over there." "I walked into this room and just felt the heaviness; and I feel like I'm being watched." If you've seen a single episode of this series, you're no doubt familiar with these types of quotes. My main problem with most ghost shows in general is that the eeriness and fright almost never come through to the viewer. Watching an "investigator" standing in a dark room saying they felt like something touched them on the back of the neck...doesn't in any way translate to the viewer. We didn't see anything, we didn't hear anything, and we certainly didn't feel anything. Almost every time they find any "evidence" at all, it's some shady recording, found after the investigation, that had to be sped up to sound like anything at all. Or, they find orbs...which is a bunch of bologna. Orbs could be specs of dust or any light reflecting object floating in the air. Why are these things thought to be spirits? This show is overly produced, set up, melodramatic, and a complete fraud.… Expand
