  1. Sound more than a little like FX's "Rescue Me"? Absolutely.
  2. Saved's ADD pace prevents any true emotion. [23 Jun 2006, p.61]

It's a fairly entertaining show right out of the gate, though it's distractingly busy with a gimmick: Poorly edited flashbacks pop up suddenly to show what victims were doing in the moments before they suffered health problems. This could be done well, but it's not now.

"Saved" is a show with a good cast, interesting concept and a fast-paced, stylized approach that never quite reaches its potential.

Scott's performance is totally believable, but that doesn't mean you want to ride shotgun with him in such a tired vehicle. [19 Jun 2006, p.37]
  6. Wyatt's story falls together a little too neatly.
  7. So what if it's as superficial as a flesh wound? There's plenty of style.

[Scott's] playfulness is essential to making this show a pleasurable trifle instead of a sodden one.

[Scott's] vital, star-making turn in "Saved" comes as a surprise, as it makes his earlier work seem muted by comparison.
  10. 50
The opening crises just feel phony and forced -- as does everything else, from the humor to the drama to the bleached-out colors.
  11. Given that it wants to seem edgy and quirky, "Saved" is remarkably rich in cliché... Still, it's no worse than average and has Tom Everett Scott in it, which is a nice thing for TV viewers.
  12. In spite of [Scott's] fine performance, though, nothing elevates this drama about people on the verge of death and disaster into something other than ordinary.
  13. 50
"Saved" is a sometimes entertaining, often predictable trauma drama.
  14. 40
A flashy but derivative medical drama.
  15. 40
Cliches are cliches, no matter what channel you're watching.
  16. It's not atrocious, just sort of bland -- the kind of show we've watched a million times before.

Proving it's possible to construct an entire series out of strung-together medical-show cliches, "Saved" races along a too-familiar path littered with "ER"-style crises.

There can be no good reason not to bring this show back. It was an instant classic, and if it got overshadowed by "reality" TV, then I thank There can be no good reason not to bring this show back. It was an instant classic, and if it got overshadowed by "reality" TV, then I thank God I got to see the few episodes that aired when it did. Oh, well, at least there's "House". BTW, "Rescue Me" does not hold a candle to "Saved". Full Review »

I loved it and would like it to come back. I am a paramedic and took pride in the show.
