Cable Highlights for the Summer 2008 Season

     
Bravo Project Runway The last season on Bravo before it moves to its new home at Lifetime in late fall.
 
BBC America Gavin & Stacy Set to be remade for NBC, watch the origianl comedy about the romance of two people who have never met face-to-face who decide to finally meet.
Monty Python's Flying Circus The British sketch-comedy show returns newly remastered
Dragon's Den Contestants have the chance to convince five millionaires to invest in their business idea.
 
HBO Real Time with Bill Maher The comedian returns in August in time for the runup to the upcoming election
Sci-Fi Stargate Atlantis Richard Woolsey leads the team in the fifth season, with guest appearances by Dr. Carson Beckett, Col. Samantha Carter, and Dr. Daniel Jackson. 
 
Showtime Secret Diary of a Call Girl The British series based on the real diaries of a call girl.
 
USA In Plain Sight Mary McCormack is a U.S. Marshal working to protect those under the witness-protection program.
 


Looking Ahead To Fall

On ABC, expected are David E. Kelley's remake of the British series Life On Mars, Ashton Kutcher's reality game Opportunity Knocks and Scrubs moves to the Disney network. Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money and Private Practice are the returning freshman series along with the last season if Boston Legal and Grey's Anatomy.

On CBS, pickups includes comedy Worst Week from Britain and a Jay Mohr-laugher, Project Gary. In the drama department, the network has The MentalistEleventh Hour, The Ex List (formerly known as Mythological X) and mystery drama Harper's Island.

On the CW, look for the new Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off, an adaptation of the book "How to Teach Filthy Rich Girls" renamed Surviving the Filthy Rich and Tyra-produced Sylista, in which contestents fight for an editoral job at Elle. Returning favorites The Game, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hilll, and America's Top Model round out the lineup.

On Fox, returns with a second season of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, as well as 'Til Death and Prison Break. The two new falls shows are J.J. Abrams' Fringe and Do Not Disturb, a comedy set in a hotel starring Jerry O'Connell. Micheal Hurwitz's comedy Sit Down, Shut Up, Joss Whedon's Dollhouse and Family Guy spin-off The Cleveland Show are set to premiere in 2009 with a new season of 24.

On NBC, Knight Rider returns as a series after a pilot movie last year. Yet another import remake hits our shores when Australia's Kath & Kim makes its debut on Tuesdays. My Own Worst Enemy and Crusoe also are on the fall schedule. Winter brings th spin-off from The Office, The Philanthropist, Kings, and British import Merlin.
