The New York TimesGinia Bellafante
The celebrity media have expended a good deal of energy glamorizing adoption, a compulsion the series avoids, looking at middle-class couples simply working to expand their families, never lending the process the air of noblesse oblige.

Adoption Diaries seems like it could pretty easily get stuck in a formulaic rut, which is probably good if adoptions proceed as they should, but that doesn't make for dramatic TV.
