Chicago Tribune Maureen Ryan
This year, there’s more to enjoy than the usual (and often funny) riffs on nerd culture and spy clichés. Chuck’s more assertive and seems to actually enjoy his secret-agent status.

There are shows on television that are smarter than Chuck, deeper, more ambitious, whatever. At the moment, I can't think of one that's more fun.

This is pure kiddie fare; no big deal--Chuck's back; TV's a better place.

The new episodes quickly jump back in, with higher stakes and sharper jokes, and creator Josh Schwartz hasn't let the strike stop him from developing Chuck's character.

Entertainment Weekly Gillian Flynn
The show remains a game mix of satire and sweetness--although Chuck still has better chemistry with his sister Ellie (Sarah Lancaster) than Sarah.

Chuck starts the second season a little more confident, a little funnier. That's the right direction to be moving in.

Connor gave it a9:
Chuck has done everything right to avoid the typical sophomore slump. It´s not the smartest show on tv, it´s not the most serious show on tv but who needs that if you can have Chuck, the single most entertaining show right now?

Sarah B. gave it a10:
Chuck's returned stronger than it's ever been. Each episode literally gets better and better, and it's definitely one of the best shows on the network/TV right now. 10/10.

[Anonymous] gave it a7:
In it's second season, the show has become evem more comfortable in it's own skin. The main premise of a nerdy guy forced into the role of a spy won't push the envelope creatively, but the acting is spot on by all cast members, the jokes are better and the relationship between Chuck and Sarah is becoming more satisfyingly complex.

Stan G gave it a9:
Vastly entertaining with very likable leads! I understand that the producers are planning a season long arc story-line for season 2. Let's hope not. That is a sure way to lose an audience. Keep the one-hour in-one story lines. Highly recommended!

[Anonymous] gave it a10:
I was sweating it out last year when Chuck seemed millimeters away from being cancelled. It's an extremely well-written show with a great cast, more people need to watch it!

Michael E. gave it an8:
This show is finally getting the respect it deserves - not to take anything away from those programs that constantly keep you guessing who's going to end up dead or turn evil next, but this is a welcome tonic. It's fast-moving, funny and light on its feet. It's a blast.
