What makes this movie such a treat to watch isn't the suspense but the passion of the characters and the obvious joy the cast takes in playing them.

This buoyant and sure-handed film benefits from picturesque wine-country locations and a certain authenticity of spirit. The loves and hates and tensions are nuanced and textured -- these people have a history, and we're always aware of it.

This made-for-TV movie could have been yet another Italians-as-cute-stupid-housepets setup, but it's done with a deft, loving hand... and it's funny and sweet without tasting like, well, White Zinfandel.

The talented Patricia Heaton is miscast as Sara Anselmi. [2 Dec 2005, p.73]

Mostly manages to charm despite its high-decibel level and modicum of originality.

To say that Ms. Kazan steals the show is not a compliment in this instance. Between them, she and Mr. Lo Bianco turn what might have been a sweet little tale of middle-aged love into a farce about over-the-top seniors.

Let's just say that spending two hours with Kazan and her garish monster should win us an Emmy, for best patience with a performance.

Fun and romantic. Romeo and Juliette in Napa Valley.
Libbie C gave it a10:
Good, clean family film. Makes one feel warm and fuzzy on the inside. Great for a rainy day. Hope it is put on video soon.
A. Calder gave it a2:
Movie fell flat. This has been done before and done better. Ms. Kazan, normally very funny, looked almost unkempt, and Spano & Keaton had no chemistry at all. I wanted to like it, but couldn't.
Sherry C gave it a9:
Although predictable, I enjoyed this "fluff" movie. It's not one that I would watch over and over though. btw, I wonder how many of the folks who said 'Brian' was too young to be Heaton's fiance' realize that he's her husband in REAL LIFE? Ciao.

This was and excellent movie. This should be put on video as soon as possible. It was so nice to be able to watch a movie without violence and super jets.
