Starring Pooch Hall, Tia Mowry, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Brittany Daniel, Coby Bell, and Hosea Chanchez

Don't call this "Girlfriends" spinoff "Footballers Wives," since there is already an Americanized version of that British soap heading to our shores. But if you prefer watching women date pro football players in a comedic, half-hour format, "The Game" is your show.

GENRE(S): Comedy

Chicago Tribune Maureen Ryan
Mowry herself is charming and capable, and Wendy Raquel Robinson has some fine moments as the mother-manager, but it’s clear that “The Game” is to be played on the surface of these potentially interesting lives.

New York Daily News David Hinckley
Where "The Game" botches its "Game" plan, though, is in writing punch lines that are much too broad, and in casting men who are more convincing in their roles and relationships than the women.

USA Today Robert Bianco
It just isn't funny. At all. Ever.

Hollywood Reporter Barry Garron
Despite the lethargic story and jokes that rarely elicit more than polite chuckles from the studio audience, "Game" is not without potential.

Chicago Sun-Times Doug Elfman
"The Game" is such a predictable drag, it's hard to keep your eyes on it. It's like watching traffic or a catnap or a Bunsen burner.

Variety Brian Lowry
"The Game" feels pretty artificial.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Rob Owen
"The Game" lacks the relationships that made "Girlfriends" a qualified UPN hit and the comedy to make it much of anything for The CW.

Philadelphia Inquirer Jonathan Storm
The network may have a new name, but it's presenting the same old desperate, low-budget foolishness.

Seattle Post-Intelligencer Melanie McFarland
Unfortunately, it doesn't come close to matching [Girlfriends'] appeal.

San Francisco Chronicle Tim Goodman
"The Game" commits all the sins you can imagine in a poorly conceived sitcom. It goes for laughs and sap, the world's most dangerous and noxious combination. It's also not funny, believable, interesting or... inspired.

A groaner from beginning to end.

Boston Globe Matthew Gilbert
This new CW series cranks out brash jokes that evaporate upon hitting the air, winds them into situations where women submit to their men, and leaves no aftertaste when it's gone. It's on TV, but it's never truly on.

A light-as-a-feather new sitcom.

A hollow imitation of a sitcom.

Dang can we keep a somewhat ethnic show around... i really enjoy this show and its so real and i can definitely relate! So y'all can go somewhere with all those negative comments.

Ryan C. gave it a10:
Best show on TV. Let's not sugarcoat it, its obvious the critics are Sex in the City enthusiasts, a show the entire Game audience gives the same review as they gave the Game. Please understand that there are a segment of society that enjoy this type of material. Stop trying to categorize positive Black TV, there is not enough of it.

Laura L. gave it a0:
Just another ghetto show trying to be ironic but is washing up slap-stick. I'm not racist, but it IS just another black person show. Where the white people are always portrayed as dumbf**ks.

Dee D. gave it a10:
This is without a doubt my favorite show. Tasha Mack is the only person on TV today that I can totally relate to. It's amazing!

Latangela V. gave it a10:
This is an excellent show! What do these stiff shirts know!

Amber gave it a10:
I love this show. I watch it every Monday! I think it's very funny.

Yaya R. gave it a10:
This show is awesome. I can't stop watching this show. It's funny and filled with a lot of emotions. This show is addicting.
