Even if you've seen the first season... this set offers enough extras to satisfy a hardcore fan's curiosity.

It's a funny, touching, quirky and sad show, and that's in every episode.

Even with outrageous cases typical of every prime-time hospital series... Grey's Anatomy manages, with snark and sex appeal, to save itself from wonky patient-of-the-week sentimentality. [17 Feb 2006, p.60]

[These episodes] show a program that proved much smarter than its first episode suggested, as it turned some old TV tricks (like sleeping with a stranger who turns out to be a co-worker) into something more complicated and interesting.

The show not only features interesting medical cases but also an attractive, talented cast and plenty of sex and romance.

Grey's Anatomy's first season, while entertaining, went a little far trying to find its groove.

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. how ironic is it that the two worst shows (the other being SCRUBS) in the history of television have a medical setting? Note, I said "have a medical setting" and not "are medical shows" because those two show have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with medicine or anything else remotely intelligent. No, really, I think you can get more out of watching Jerry Springer than Grey's Anatomy or Scrubs. REALLY. I seriously cringe and want to projectile vomit at the mere sight and/or mention of either show. True Story: I was dating this girl for like 2-3 weeks and one night we were watching TV together. So she's flipping through the channels looking for something to watch when she notices Scrubs and says, "Oh I love this show!" No lie, I told her to get the f--- out and don't call me again! It is THAT bad. Same with Grey's Anatomy.

I would had rated 1 if this show did not try to cover-up the fact that it is a soap opera by trying to come off as some cutting edge drama with all the pretentious background music and fade-ins. Due to this pretentiousness, I gave it a zero because it is not only poorly acted, poorly written and poorly directed....it's a show that pretends to be relevant and thought provoking - but comes off as insulting to intelligence. What a load of garbage. Grey's Anatomy is bottom of the barrel....House, now there is a great TV show. Excellent stories and acting.
Steve S. gave it a10:
This show is constantly entertaining. Yes, it's a soap opera, but it's a great soap full of heart and humor along with the drama.
Martin S. gave it a2:
The mortality rate at Seatle General must be staggering but hey, at least the doctors are working out their personal issues.

1st-I am a HUGE Friends fan. Other than that, I am not too fond of TV. I have never gotten wrapped up in any show. I didn't even start watching GA until right before the 3rd season started. I rented the previous season to catch up and haven't had a free Thur night since. Sure it can get unrealistic, and not be whole lot about medicine. But I don't watch it bc I want to be a dr-and real life is realistic enough. I like the drama and the unexpected changes. I love the characters. I seem to be able to relate to each character in some way, which is nice. I think it is a great show and a guilty pleasure. No reason to be so critical when it is after all just TV. I hope they last longer than Friends.

I don't know why but i just love this show.

The so called “stars” of this show are simple idiots, who enjoy playing their characters, because they can “act” like they have brains! Neither one of them is able to answer a simple biology or anatomy question. Sandra Oh and her character on the show are an embarrassment to the medical society, and Hollywood. People, who support these stupid shows by watching them, are losers. Meredith looked like she was on drugs all through the show, izzy had to get her teeth fixed toward the middle of the series, Sandra Oh could not fix anything, cuz that would require cutting her head off.
