Director John Rice's animation is colorful and entertaining, even for the youngest of viewers.

Eubie's journey almost works well as a story. The computer animation is pleasant and sometimes quite pretty. Some characters become well-established, particularly Gilda, due to Carol Kane's sweet and strong voice acting. The dialogue is just a little weak.

If you liked The Polar Express, then you will enjoy this movie. This film is great for kids of all ages. Also, the DVD has lots of cheerful extras, among them printable elf games and holiday cards. The Happy Elf is the holiday film of the year.
Woo S gave it a10:
Very nice. No monsters. No scary stuff.
