VarietyPhil Gallo
Having four women with sufficiently distinct personalities and a pleasant tone should help the show secure some viewership, but it really belongs on a specialized femme-oriented cable net.

It's pleasant, but not promising enough to care about beyond a one-episode stand. [19 Jun 2006, p.37]
Entertainment WeeklyJessica Shaw
Guy is almost that bad date that makes for a good story, but instead it's just a bad date that won't say good night. [16 Jun 2006, p.70]
Boston GlobeMatthew Gilbert
It's thoroughly artificial and proud of it. The four women are a little too attractive, their comments and voiceovers feel a little too semi-scripted, and everyone is a little too willing to ignore the camera crew on the dates.

It's an artificial conceit for a superficial show.

A ridiculous, cloying, condescending, wrong-headed reality show.

Would more accurately be called "How to Get A Guy, Any Guy" or better yet, "How to Cast a Great, Big, Wide Net Like the Soulless, Whoring Sea Donkey That You Are."

"How to Get the Guy" doesn't have to worry about a slow slide: It starts out about as low as you can go.

Fanny O. gave it a10:
that guy Dennis was so hot!
Kelly T. gave it a0:
What a bunch of crap! None of these women, in the grand scheme of things - or the men for that matter - were all that attractive. But the one that irritated me the most was the oriental girl (I'm bi-racial myself, so don't accuse me of being a racist). It is so obvious to me that she dumped Josh because she had an overly high opinion of herself and thought that she could do better. Poor Josh! I tried to like him, but what was there to like? So, when this girl realized that she wasn't all that hot (I have seen many, many more Asian women who are thousands of times more beautiful than she is), she decided that she better go back to Josh before her luck ran out completely. She does not love Josh; she's a gold-digger and deep down Josh knows it, too. Most of these guys probably would not have dated any of these girls if they weren't going to be on TV. Nothing against the other girls - they just need to believe in themselves because they DO have a lot going for them. Just don't settle, like what's-her-name is doing with Josh!
Stacey gave it a10:
I thought it was a creative, practical, entertaining show. I learned so much! I was all ready to nominate a guy friend of mine for what I hoped would be the sequel ("How to Get the Girl") but then it disappeared. I hope they bring it back, too.
Abbie K gave it a10:
I cant belive that it is gone, they didnt even let us kno what happened! they better bring it back next year!
Pamela H gave it a10:
I loved this show! I am so bummed it is gone. I too am sad they left us hanging.
Iris R gave it a9:
I really enjoyed watching this show and I hope they bring it back.
Lynn A gave it a10:
Bring it back. I can't believe they left us hanging. Obviously you can't believe any of the critics. This was really enjoyable to watch.
