The overall effect is pleasing, light, cheerful.

[A] cute wisp of a series.

The pilot looks dangerously flawed and seriously underwhelming.

There are moments of dizzy, semisweet fun to be had on the premiere. But the honeymoon could be short.

As annoying as Kelley can be, I can't really think of a better writer to take on an even soapier, wedding-themed version of "Grey's Anatomy," which is about where this one lands, tonally.

The show’s not awful, but not Robert Altman, either.

Even with an attractive cast and tart moments, the whole remains less than the sum of its parts.

Even the best home run hitters can swing and miss badly, though - and on "The Wedding Bells," all of them do.

An anemic, unfunny romantic comedy.

Unfortunately, the comedy is Kelley at his most forced and artificial.

Mr. Kelley is a gifted television producer, and “The Wedding Bells” has funny moments, but this series is not a labor of love. It’s a labored effort to simulate romance.

Newark Star-Ledger Alan Sepinwall
It abandons all of Kelley's strengths, like the legal setting and male bonding, and drowns itself in his weaknesses: women discussing their feelings, women flirting with men, women acting body-conscious... basically, anything involving the female gender.

Hollywood Reporter Barry Garron
"Bells" needs to be about more than pacifying that week's psycho bride (or her demanding mother), or it risks being an updated version of "The Love Boat."

This is the skin of a David E. Kelley show with none of the usual muscle, brains, spirit or cheek behind it.

I wouldn’t rush to clear space on the old DVR for this muddled marital mess.

Somebody on The Wedding Bells is always saying ''We need to talk about it,'' to which the reply is invariably something like "I'm not big on dating men I've slept with.''

Boston Globe Matthew Gilbert
A painfully lightweight collection of stock comic wedding situations... that Kelley could have written on his PDA at the gym.

Entertainment Weekly Gillian Flynn
Wedding Bells' pilot concludes with a bride literally catching fire, a suitably ugly ending for a truly grotesque show.

It is awful. It is truly awful. It is awful in ways that make the word "awful" seem inadequate.

I love this show. When will it be on again?

Cat W gave it a10:
You all are nuts! You give this show only 4 weeks and in that 4 weeks move it around so that no one can find it and call it quits? This was one of the best shows to come around in a very long time! It appealed to BOTH husbands and wives; word of mouth was going out to friends and relatives and it also appealed to the "over 30" crowd who has the money, etc. But most of all - IT MAD US BELLY-ROLL LAUGH! You better fire the guy who decided to pull this show - he just lost a lot of money for you all!

Blake M gave it a9:
One of the funniest shows of the year. In a year with so few good new TV shows, this is a breath of fresh air. Guys, don't be afraid to watch this one. It really treats that Wedding with more humor and irreverance than any show I've seen. In the last episode that airred on 4/6. I was laughing for 10 minutes straight. There has not been a show that has done that for me since some of the early episodes of The Office. Don't miss this one. Well worth the space on Tivo!

Inge C gave it an8:
This show is a sarcastically humerous take on weddings and I love it. It is very entertaining and I believe that FOX is making a mistake in cancelling this show. I will miss it.

jen gave it a10:
Very cute and heartwarming too.

amanda b gave it a10:
i find the show to be very entertaining, funny and very realistic

Daff L gave it a9:
Except for the chef's role, I believe the story line is very good. I have it set up on my PVR to record each week. Not all shows have to be big production bang up/violent ones.Sometimes you just want something sweet and funny to watch.
