Sons of Anarchy remains as bare-knuckled and, almost inconceivably, as funny and crass as ever. And it doesn't take Season 3 very long to ratchet up the twists
The darker and more complicated life gets for the Sons, the better the TV show tends to be. And based on the four episodes I've seen, Sons is still at the incredible level it achieved a year ago, when it became one of the best dramas on television.

Season 3 of SOA brings some of the best writing (especially with the Ireland episodes) and a fantastic performance from Katey Sagal (Home) as the gang's code of brotherhood stays strong all the way up to the season's brilliant finale.

Took me a while to start watching this show, started on Nflix during season 4, binged on seasons 1-3, killed me waiting on 4. Watched that on Nflix then watched 5-7 live. Love the show!

If you're really just in the mood for a tightly plotted character drama, the show delivers on that score. And if you like to see bikers busting heads, well, SOA has some of the best bone-crunching action in the business.
Sons of Anarchy may be wild fantasy and melodrama, but it is tempered by a feeling of verity.
While some of their "family values" are perverse and illegal, most are rooted in the same principles embraced by the straightest arrows in town. That's what makes them more than motorcycle thugs and makes their show worth the discomfort it sometimes takes to ride with it.
Certainly, the show is still exciting and thoughtful in the way that it disassembles many pat notions we may have of tribe loyalty, family bonds, and the treachery of the business world.
This dark biker-gang drama certainly has its share of fans, but held up against the larger pantheon of cable dramas--including some of FX's recent and upcoming additions--Sons emulates its ride: Plenty noisy, but a relatively low-octane vehicle.
Even better than the previous season. I know that a few fans were bored by the slow episodes and Abel's plot line taking 11 episodes to end. However, each episode was getting more intense and I was getting more and more uncomfortable. Also, a lot of people complained about the Irish accent during the Belfast episodes. Since I'm not from Ireland, it was no big deal for me and I actually think it's pretty stupid to hate the whole season because of it.

What i felt was two strong season in season 1 and 2, season 3 kind of took a detour into unrealistic territory, episode after episode. While the series always has been morally ambiguous, this season tries to push the envelope even more in making the police and atf completely evil and incompetent, while the bikers kill more out of respect and protection of the group, the atf kill in order further career, not to pursue these dangerous criminals. Also you have situations that are completely unrealistic such as hostage situations in which outlaw bikers show up and provide intel. I have heard season 4 gets back on track so we will have to see. Plus the entire baby situation was long and drawn out.

I love this series, but, for the first time, I'm letting episodes stack up before watching them. Why? Because the kidnapped baby storyline is dull, which is bad, and sentimental, which is worse. One of the things I've always admired about SOA is its refusal to jerk tears or resort to easy platitudes, so I can't fathom why Sutter & company suddenly placed an Infant in Peril at the center of events. There's no moral complexity with a Purloined Babe; there are only quivering lips, shouts of "You don't understand!" and behavior that would look shockingly selfish without the Son of Captivity to excuse it. We're promised a big payoff as the season ends, but episodes should be strong in their own right, not just set-ups for a punchline. Hope season four returns to form!
